NYU or Roseman

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Good morning. I have been accepted into these two schools in this morning. Now, I am torn between where I should put down my deposit. I love Roseman and their curriculum. I also love living in NY. Any thoughts?

I know nothing about NYU, but I absolutely loved Roseman. I'm a west coast girl, though, so I love Utah for all of its outdoor activities.

Which one is cheaper?

Go to that one. lol

I'm an East Coast girl and I love East Coast living, so I'd probably choose NYU.

Where would you be happiest, though?

If you don't have an answer for that, look at cost.

They're pretty similar though living cost in NYC is probably going to be higher.

Really? Then, I would choose NYU, bc NY is a great, fast-paced place to study for a graduate degree. (P.S.-Born and Raised NYer Bias) 🙄

I live in California.
Roseman:
THE GOOD: small class, good program, p/f, group test, everyone seems so happy there, good hikes and ski resorts.
THE BAD: not so good public transport. not much night/city life.
NYU:
THE GOOD: in NYC. close to family friends.
THE BAD: large class size, not everyone graduates, people are not so friendly when I interviewed there, slightly more expensive than Roseman.

Where are you getting this information from?

i got into both as well, but feel nyu is a more well-rounded school. but thats just me. anyways that free's up one spot for someone else. good luck

How new is Roseman? Going to a new dental school would scare me a little bit... It's amazing how much help upper classmen can be.

We have two classes currently enrolled and this cycle will fill the third class.

Although Roseman is a newer school, they seemed to be on top of their game. However, you can't ignore the fact that NYU has been around for quite some time and has a decent number of specialty programs. I love the South Jordan area as well as Manhattan and that is mostly personal preference so that is for you to decide.

If I weren't interested in specializing and wanted to live in a quieter environment, then I would go to Roseman. If I liked the idea of living in the city and wanted to specialize then I would definitely go to NYU. How "nice" the staff seems is not a huge factor for me personally as long as they aren't complete jerks. By the way, the staff at NYU is more than nice enough. They won't baby you but then again most of us are grown adults.

In terms of schools, I'd go to the established program.

If living cost/experience is something important to you, the choice is clear.

Have you made a final decision yet? I am in a similar dilemma.
