Can anyone offer their insight. I am interested in a competitive surgical subspecialty though I plan to keep an open mind.

Well I know people who chose Pitt over Cornell. I think your choice is completely location preference dependent.

Location should be huge part of the decision... What subspecialty are you considering? NYU accepts a lot of its students for residency... If you're thinking about plastics, neurosurgery, Urology, ENT... definitely NYU.
