NYU Research or Community oriented?

Im just wondering does NYU want to see a lot of research or are they more community service oriented. I know its important to have both but i'm trying to figure out what to do this summer to maximize my shot at my top choice school...

i would like to do both but dont want to over work myself. It's likes saying i enjoy both apples and oranges but which is more healthy??

the bottom line is that a lot of schools are interested in both...i was far more involved in research than community based things, and I was accepted to schools that are known to have a strong focus on community (Mt. Sinai, interviewed BU).

don't worry about it-do what you like and your passion and diligence is what schools look for

NYU is a research school, but spend more time on the activity that you think you will get the most out of it, I think its better to have more meaningful experiences rather than variety and scratching the surface.
