NYU has dorms for dental school students who are in their first year. If one is interested in staying in the dorms then is it guaranteed that a D1 student will be able to get housing there? Do you have to apply for it? and by when? basically i am asking if you want to dorm in the university housing that is for dental students then do you have to apply for the housing and is it guaranteed and by when do you have to apply? Also, is there a roommate and do you get to pick? Thank you and please answer soon.

Yes, you apply for it.
No, it's not guaranteed.
Yes, there will be roommates.
No, you cannot pick them.
You should apply as soon as possible after they send you the housing packet (won't be for a few months still).

You should apply ASAP.
You do not get to pick your roomate although i did end up with one who was pretty similar to me, but that may have been pure luck.
The residence is about a block away from the school so it is incredibly convenient although the res itself is very no frills but better than what I expected.
Dental students are usually on the upper floors and my room has a pretty stunning view of the empire state and chrysler buildings. I also met a lot of people living in the dorms and its been pretty fun although meeting people isn't too much of a problem either way.

Hope this helps.

Hi! I was wondering if I should be worried about looking for an apt other than that at NYU, even if I apply to NYU housing the first day that I receive the housing packet??

Also, if classes start the second week of August...when do u recommend new dental students to arrive to the city?

Thanks!
