Can any current dental students attending Tufts or NYU (preferably D3, D4 or recent alumni) give me some insight about their school's curriculum and student life (are the students happy, etc.)?

Also is it difficult to obtain chairs since both these schools have a large class size?

Thanks! 😎

nah.. getting chairs at nyu is no big deal.. of course there are some days that you dont have enough chairs.. if you schedule your appointments in advance then you will get the chairs for sure

+1

I had to turn a patient away only one time because there were no chairs ANYWHERE. But I was working off-session (not a scheduled appt - I did this a lot and always warned patients that we might not get a chair) and the patient came late.

I think NYU does a very very good job managing its resources around the student body size.

Thanks for the input! I was asking this because NYU is known for its large class size. I might attend NYU next fall; do any of you know where the best apartments are located? I dislike commuting to and from school because I would rather use commuting time to study and hangout with friends.

The best apartments closest ones are called waterside and stuyvesant. Also i love studios just next door to the college's back entrance, in the next building. They are awesome for 1 or 2 people. At waterside and stuyvesant people do share it with their friends..If you can afford it all alone, then you are at one of the nest places..

Can anyone comment on which school is the better choice purely based on clinical experience and student happiness?

Not possible. Nobody attended both so there's no room to compare. I will tell you that at NYU there is no shortage of patients. You can do as much as you want.

i agree with mackchops..
I have had seen people allowed to do, double or may be even triple the quota allotted to students. It depends on how many hours you want to stay in the school.
One of the students who wrote an interview about her journey to school can be seen here. Her Journey to DDS can be inspiring..see at http://ow.ly/fUeoM
