NYU vs. UNE vs. MWU-AZ

School 1: NYU
Pros:

• great clinical program
• large city, lots to do

Cons:

• large class size
• far from home
• expensive

School 2: UNE
Pros:

• pass/fail
• 4th year externships
• no residents
• cheapest option

Cons:

• far from home
• colder climate
• less known
• unsure about their clinical program

School 3: MWU-AZ
Pros:

• can imagine myself living here for 4 years
• great climate
• absolutely loved their school
• high tech
• great clinical program
• lots of patients

Cons:

• far from home
• extremely expensive

Hey everyone, I need some help deciding between these schools, any advice is welcomed!

I know I am bias bc I am going to UNE, but I understand spending a little bit more money on a school that is your top choice, but in this case UNE is a cheaper option and its not even close. I received interviews for both NYU and MWUAZ, but could not bring my self to even entertain the option of going to either one over a cheaper option.

I saw that you ultimately chose UNE (based on the UNE 2024 thread)! How are you liking it so far? & what are your thoughts on the clinical program (since you previously mentioned you were “unsure” about it)?

I have interviews at both UNE (in Nov) & MWU-AZ (in Jan). I have an opportunity to move my MWU-AZ interview to an earlier date but that would force me to reschedule my UNE interview to a later date. I’m just debating if making the change is worth it!

Honestly I am really liking it! Clinically speaking iam sure its no MWUAZ (as far as technology and facilities go) but we have been in the SIM clinic since day of school. With a smaller class size, there is ALWAYS another professor right by you to work with you 1 on 1 and help you out. The school has taken feed back from past students about being in lecture too much, and now we dont start class until 10 most days. I know the d4s really love the externships they go on, and are able to get great exposure! In reality you have 2 GREAT options. MWUAZ is a great school, i just had a hard time justifying paying that much more in tuition. Best of luck!
