I got a waitlist letter from NYU. It sounded really pessimistic (we can't estimate your chances of being accepted off the waitlist). Is this a standard letter, or is it politely saying I am on the lower ranks of the waitlist. anyone? 😕

Ditto. I think I got the same letter. I intervied mid-January. The letter was postmarked Feb. 15th, and I am on the East coast. So now it's more waiting for the waitlist to move I suppose. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

I got the same letter -- not too positive about our chances. Anyone with a different letter please let us know!

Maybe we all get the same letter, which should make us happy, but how are we supposed to know where we are in the waitlist? So I guess we can be happy that we all got the same letter, but still as frustrated, since we still have no idea when or whether we might get in.

I got the same letter. I thought it was a rejection....it looked so "to the point". What are our chances???

I still haven't heard anything and its driving me nuts! Do you all live on the east coast?

Have you noticed a trend? Not a one post stating an acceptance sent on 2/15. It seems that only waitlists have been sent so far. Another post hints at the fact that most people admitted to NYU have heard within three weeks of there interview, so this 2/15 business may just be when they send out their waitlists.

Oh yeah, received to my mailing address in NJ = Waitlist
