Hey, I was reading a post a while back from a D1 in NYU that stated that this year, NYU accepted too many people, so they were offering money if people waited another year, and about 30 people did this. SO does that mean that there will be 30 less seats available next year? And I guess NYU will be easy on the acceptances this year! Bad news for the 3.0ers like myself! 😕

I asked amy knowles this question. She says this years class will not effect us at all.

I find that hard to believe. Those 30 students have to be put somewhere, and that will undoubtly effect applicants for NYU this year. If its not going to effect new applicants, then where does NYU put those 30 students who accepted the deferred admission? Any way you put it, there are 30 less seats available at NYU.

well, i know that Nyu takes a grip of international students during the second year, so i would imagine that they will take less of them.

I am a d1 at nyu and I think only 6-7 people took the deferment, not thirty. Currently we have 268 students in the class, and I think we started with 274-275.

Also, I just had a meeting with my mentor(a clinical professor who has been at the school for thirty years) and he said the attrition rate is about 10%.
