Hey I know I'm applying really late... my optomcas application just got processed and I'm applying to ICO, NOVA, SCCO, SUNY and PCO but I really want to go to SUNY. I majored in Nutrition so not sure if that helps. With my GPA and OAT scores, what do you think my chances are of getting in??

Reading Comprehension: 350
Physics: 360
Biology: 360
Organic Chemistry: 400
General Chemistry: 360
Quantitative Reasoning: 380
Total Science: 380
Academic Average: 370

My overall college GPA: 3.72
My science GPA: 3.34

If you are smart enough to get grades and scores like that, I think you already know the answer. If you don't know, I'm sure you're more than capable enough to find the answer without asking a bunch of anonymous strangers.

Sorry to have wasted your time with my inquiry. Though I thought the point of this forum was to ask strangers advice about any concern you have about Optometry school. And obviously the schools will say to apply as quickly as possible and do well in your interview. They don't give more that that so I thought I would try asking other pre-Optometry students what they thought.

I think that if you are going to consider spending years of your life, and potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars you should do a bit of research about programs that you are interested in before you come to a forum.
But to answer your question follow this link http://bit.ly/Vy9scm and it should give you all the info you are looking for (Profile of the 2012 Optometry Entering Class, OAT & GPA averages ect.) Good luck

Thanks. Maybe I should have been more specific in my question since I know I have good grades, but I'm concerned that applying this late will hurt my chances of getting in. I was curious if other people applied this late in the game with similar scores to mine and still got accepted.
