Can somebody give me some general insight as to how much money (before taxes, of course) an OB/GYN can expect to make after s/he's paid whatever the going rate for malpractice insurance is?

Also, how long is a standard OB/GYN residency?

Thanks

I have no idea if this is right, but a resident at my med school said $180,000 is about avg. I know another doctor who worked at the public health dept 9-5 no call no weekends and still got 6 figures.

Standard ob-gyn residency is 4 years.

I hope this info helps at all.

Here is one place you can look (it'll be on the right column):

http://www.physicianssearch.com/home.html

Keep in mind that alot of these "surveys" are subjective and not exactly representative. Alot of factors such as geography, skills, bonus structure, etc go into how much you will make.

Anyone know of a site with more specifics about the salaries in OB/GYN especially the subspecialties?? Thanks.
