The great sell off begins?

And of course the return of client billing hell......

"Effective calendar year 2016,
this proposal would seek to encourage more
appropriate use of ancillary services by
amending the in-office ancillary services
exception to prohibit certain referrals for
radiation therapy, therapy services, advanced
imaging, and anatomic pathology services
except in cases where a practice meets certain
accountability standards, as defined by the
Secretary. [$6 billion in savings over 10 years"

Wonder what certain accoutability standards means?

It's relatively good news and should be fought for diligently.

However, the CAP are still working against the best interests of patients and pathologists. You should certainly involve yourselves in the policy level, lest the decisions be made by out-of-touch academics, as they currently are.

I think the clinician's lobbiests will keep this "budget recommendation" from going very far. Congress has known about this for years but they are on the take.
I'm equally sure this protectionist BS will continue as long as the politicians are willing to accept money and the players are willing to shell it out.

Unfortunately, it sweeps up folks like me and throws them in the **** can in the process. Yay.
