In the US obgyn "can do all things" once BC/BE as well, but as you'll find in your home country, the realities of patient load, business, law and administration determine whether it's reasonable for an obgyn subspecialist to do procedures outside the subspecialty. For instance if you want to do hysts, urogyn, robotics, you have to have OR block time among other hospital negotiations, which may be a completely separate process and separate business from the L&D OR block time & hospital support you get with MFM. If you count tubal ligation, cerclage, biopsies, contraception as gyn, that's consistent with an MFM practice. It also matters whether you're in an academic environment vs. private practice, metro area vs. rural or suburban.

The good news is that you're at least 4 years from having to decide whether to pursue fellowship or not, and your competitiveness for residency in the US, as an IMG, is not going to be such that you'll be choosing residencies based on rates of specialization.

Best of luck to you.
