Hello guys,

I have a question regarding observation hours. Will it hurt one's application if they do not verify their observation hours? I recently shadowed for a medical therapy unit with both PT/OT on the floor. I originally went in under OT supervision but worked a lot with PT. Now, they are saying that they won't sign off on my hours as PT hours because I was under "OT supervision". They say I can state that I observed both PT/OT but won't sign off on formal hours. I am not sure if it will hurt my chances if I do not verify my hours. I am thinking about completely just leaving those hours out of my application now.

Thanks!

It depends if your program requires your hours to be verified. If it does require verification, these hours won’t count toward the minimum hours needed to meet their requirement (no big deal UNLESS you’re just barely near/at the minimum numbers of hours they want). If they don’t require verification, you’re good to go. I would still list them anyways

Sounds good! Thank you for your reply.
