Hello,
can anybody tell me how much weight do they give to observership certificates if we r trying to apply to dental school.

1) do they hold any importance at all.
2) do they actually contact the dentist who we have been shadowing to know more about the candidate
3) do they really not care about the certificate.

i have been shadowing but i do not hav a certificate, should i ask the dentist for one or just telling the admissions committee that i have been shadowing is enough.

Shadowing a dentist in US has lot of importance while applying to dental schools, you can show them that you have exposure to dentistry not only in your home country but also in US. Its always good to take a letter from the dentist you r shadowing and submit it with your application as one of the reco letters.

1) yes they do.
2) they might. just as they might contact ur recommenders to slarify some things.
3) whoever told u that... they care about everything they recieve.

I think you should ask your dentist for one.
