I'm beginning to feel like this is an under-developed area in Canada in terms of research at several universities. I currently do research in this area, but it's at a hospital, not on a campus.

Can anyone name some schools off the top of their head IN THE U.S. that have faculty which study OCD/anxiety disorders? I am interested in applying to a few U.S. schools this year and I really have little scope of the 100s of schools in the U.S. compared to the 10s in Canada.

Thanks!

Off the top of my head

Stony Brook (Hajcak)
Boston U (Barlow)
Penn (Foa)
USF (Storch)
Delaware (Simons)

Sure there's many more, those are just the first ones that spring to mind.

check out Binghamton University too... I'm currently working as an undergrad RA in a lab that studies social phobia, OCD, and other anxiety disorders (under Dr. Meredith Coles). From what I hear, Temple University (Pennsylvania) also has an excellent anxiety disorders research center.

EDIT: that's in New York, just in case you haven't heard of it 🙂

UNC-Chapel Hill (Abramowitz)

Have you tried doing a search on PsycInfo?

yeah i know, i just wanted to get a smaller list to check out first though lol. 😀.

Thanks for the responses so far... I can't tell you how many times I've cited Abramowitz...... man, that guy is prolific.

Nader Amir at the SDSU joint doctoral program has an anxiety clinic -- and I know he's got someone there working on OCD too.

I totally understand. 😀 If you have the Insider's Guide, they have a list of programs by research area. It's probably not entirely accurate, but it may be a good starting point.

Good point! I'll check out the one we have on campus.
