what's the general trend of what happens when an acid (H3o+) and heat get added to a reactant?

Please provide specific examples and cases so we can better answer your question. In general, the acid is acting as a catalyst that protonates a reactant making it positively charged. Some reactions need heat to overcome the activation energy barrier to favor the forward reaction (gen chem review).
