Hi everyone, I just checked my grade and so drepressed due to a C- in Ochem I at my Cal State Univerysity. I really dont know what to do and would really appreciate all your advices. I am debating if I should retake the Ochem series at a CC(quarter system) or should I hope to be able to add and retake it at my Univerysity(semester system)? CHances are that will be hard to do academic renewal because the University Ochem class is always full. So should I take 3 quarters of Ochem series at CC instead? Will pharmacy school care if I take ochem at a CC or at Univerysity? Thank you all in advanced for your time

I suggest you should take Ochem 1 at a university because later on you will need to take Ochem 2 at your university anyway. I took Organic 1 and 2 at a community college and the tests at my current University seems a little harder.

I disagree, I took ochem at a community college, got an awesome teacher and learned sooo much. My sister took it at the 4 year college that I graduated from and her teacher was awful and she learned nothing. I really feel like almost every class that I took at a CC (it's so much cheaper and I pay for my own tuition) was smaller and I learned more than I did in my classes at my university. I don't think it looks bad to adcoms either, but who knows.

I can vouch for CCs as well. I have an undergrad degree from Georgia Tech, but decided to do pharmacy after working 3 years. So I took the remaining prereqs (ones that I had not taken through engineering) at a CC since I had to pay for it myself and learned so much. I don't regret it at all. As a plus, my CC is on quarters which are so much better than semesters. This is coming from someone who has experience at both university and CC. I don't really know how it looks to adcoms, however, I think that since I already have a degree at a university it shouldn't matter.
