I'm looking at classes for Spring, and I have to decide the order of science courses to take. Preferably, I want to stay with 2 sciences (with labs) in Spring, and 1 science over Summer.

What combination of OChem II, Physics I, or Bio II would you do over one semester?

Chem II and Bio II. The advance is that you can take organic I and Microbiology after.

Def Physics I and Bio II.
I would say if you did well in OChem I, take OChem II over the summer so you can give it your undivided attention.

I'm doing okay in OrgoI right now, currently with a high B / low A. I have heard that physics is a tough beast, so I am surprised that some of you are saying that OrgoII needs the most attention.

Thanks for the advice... any other input? It seems opinions are split between when to take OrgoII and physics. So I'll definitely enroll for Bio II in Spring.

ochem and bio 2. You should take your ochem classes back to back, because these classes do build upon each other. You do not want to go into ochem 2, having forgot what you learned in ochem 1. Ochem 2 is not easy, and it will definitely be harder if you have a semester/quarter haitus between classes.

Ochem does require a good amount of your attention, but there is no way I want to take it in summer time, where its one chapter every two days, with tons of homework problems to do.

Physics isn't too bad, it really depends on whether or not its calc-based or not. Even then, its not too bad.

If you wanna see what your professional years are gonna be like, take all 3 🙂 I took orgo I, physics and anatomy 1st semester of 2nd year (though 2nd semester I only had orgo2 and micro). Keep in mind, this was required for me (6yr program).

But joking aside, probably orgo2 and bio2. You probably want less time between bio1 and bio2, and you could just take physics later since it's a totally new subject.

Why are you taking bio all the way in your 2nd year (unless you're taking orgo as a freshman)? Don't understand why people spread out their prereqs so much...only valuable if the school requires a bachelor's degree.

Bio II is a breeze. I'm actually suprised it is required to take before Organic. Either way, I would take Bio II and OrgII together. Physics is pretty straightforward and can be done over the summer with no real problem. Keep in mind Organic is important for pharm school, physics not so much. I would focus on it during the semester and make sure I do well. Good luck.

I took bioI in the fall of my freshman year, but I overestimated my studying abilities and took other science courses along with it, and got off with a C. I decided to concentrate on my GenEd and Genchem classes, which I have done successfully. It's weird that I never needed BioII for a prereq to OrgoI, so I had been able to put it off until next spring. I am a much better student now than I was a year ago and confident I will do better in biology.

I am leaning towards OrgoII and BioII next semester. Thanks to all for the input.

I didn't mean that bibo2 was required before orgo. I meant that it was required for me to take 3 sciences (orgo, anatomy and physics).

Then again next year I'll be required to take pharmacology, pharmaceutics and P&T together.

hi,i am very new here,i just want to ask i got a W on my cal 1 ,then i retake it,i got an A,,,do u think Temple will accept me if i got an W,,and i am freshmen in prepharmacy, when do u think i should apply for pharmcas, application and stuffs to get in to temple....lol,so confusing...
