Unfortunatley I did not meet the ocpm mcat requirement for my conditional acceptance. What are my options now? I would hate to lose my seat.

Has anyone been in this situation?

You can still sign up and take it again. Just study your butt off! Perhaps take a prep course?

I read the las mcat accepted is June 16. I was wondering about deferment? Or perhaps if I would be eligible for the 5 year program.?

Do you know anything about this ?

Thanks in advance

Why did you apply there? There website clearly says nothing less that 21 or something like that. Apply to CSPM. There website says a min of 16, but I'm not sure if that will get you in this late. However, you will not be eliminated, unless you mcat is <16. My suggestion, apply to CSPM and forget the mcat for now. If you are denied, take a prep class and take the test again in 4-6 months. As long as sacrificing 1 year is ok for more school options +more free money opps.

PS : I think AZ is a 20. Temple is a 19 with at least 6 in verbal. OCPm is like 21 or 22. No clue about Barry or NY. (Both prob >21) Western is also >21 I think or higher. Schol and DMU are situation based, meaning they will take a 19 or 20 if....., but you are better off being >>21 for those schools too. Sorry about your luck but you still have plenty of options. If these fall through, just go to a caribbean md school with no mcat requirement like MUA OR saba. Toodles!

All schools have similar MCAT requirements. Like you said, the "minimum requirement" really doesn't mean much. You want to score higher to remain competitive (also to land scholarships).

Not all schools require the MCAT though. Have you interviewed at other schools?

At OCPM, scholarships are based off GPA, not MCAT score. Just a heads up. But I do suggest retaking it.

How far off the mark were you? I assume you've not contacted Dean Lott yet or anyone else from the school for their advice. Good luck to you and hopefully they'll look past the score and offer you the spot anyways.

I fully agree! Before you make any rash decisions, email Dean Lott and ask about your choices!
