October 15th??

Do all of the schools have to wait until October 15th to offer acceptances? I've heard conflicting information.

AAMC says if you are regular admission they are SUPPOSED to wait. If you find out because you get a secret phone call from a friend on the adcom board you are just lucky.

so was there a date like this last year? if so, did all of the early applicants (not early decision, just early in the cycle) have to wait until 10/15? not that this is a long time to wait!

Acceptances are offered weekly, beginning October 1 and continuing until the class is filled. Each week, the Committee may elect to remove someone from the "acceptance range" list and send an offer of acceptance, or they may send such offers only to applicants whose files have come before them for the first time.

Yeah, I've read here and there October 1st versus October 15th, so its seems like some schools don't really abide by the rule.
