Well, I'm not waiting for 10/15 since I did EDP, but the admissions committee met yesterday and they are supposed to let us know TODAY. Basically I am a nervous wreck at work checking me email and phone every five minutes.

I could possibly end up having a mental breakdown by the end of the day!

Just joining the group for support...waiting sucks! Good luck everyone!

Awww best of luck! Let us know the outcome. For me, other's people's acceptances help the waiting process 🙂
 
Well, two weeks from tonight I will NOT be sleeping...

You know, a part of me almost doesn't want this day to come. I've got this cell bio test that I've been a little lazy about studying for, and I'm not too sure how I'll do..

I guess it cant be that bad though, I'll just cram for the next few days.

9 days, wow, when the hell did we hit single digits.

Good luck to everyone though...i know as soon as I'm done with my test, I'm just gonna go home, check my email (case probably wont have the status page updated until the later afternoon anyway), and whether good news or bad, get some good nights sleep. Course, if it's good, I'll make sure to take the following Friday off and spend it sleeping in bed till noon, going out with friends all day, and partying till the wee hours of Saturday.

Yay, one of my schools said that we would definitely be called on the morning of the 15th 🙂
 
If I have good news Thursday I'm definitely thinking of taking friday off too. I'm pretty sure my answers are both coming thursday. omgggg just over a week!!

The irony being, that if *I* get accepted the 15th or 16th, I'm gonna be excited because I *won't* have to miss class any more. Seriously, it gets kind of old having to make up every lecture...

^Gotta hope. Honestly, I've had better luck in the interview stage than I could have imagined. At least in part due to good SDN advice 🙂

I know SDN can be amazing at times!!!!! Its a love hate relationship with this website sometimes but in the end I don't know what I'd do without all the resources and this place. It keeps me sane when I'm bored cuz I can chit chat with others who know what I'm going through. And sometimes its easier to deal with these people then some of the kids I know outside of SDN.
 
Since you guys seem to know everything about October 15th, I was hoping you could help me with this.

I just got an interview offer at BU. They are offering me 2 dates: 10/10 and 10/22. 10/10, this Friday, is really soon and I will have to buckle down big time to be prepared for the interview. But 10/10 is obviously before 10/15. My question is what is the likelihood that adcoms would meet to discuss 10/10 interviewees for 10/15 acceptances?

With all honesty, probably pretty unlikely. It is POSSIBLE, but most schools take a couple of weeks to make decisions. Whichever interview day is better for you is the one you should definitely take 🙂 Best of :luck:

Haha. I found a blessing to the gap year! One class a trimester, and that's the way it'll stay if I get a "yes" in 8 DAYS, 15 HOURS!!

I haven't had to miss at all yet, b/c it's a night class and I haven't had any interviews that fell at that particular time of the week. Missing work? A completely different story. Good thing they love me... 😍

It totally depends on the school.

The rules say "AFTER the 15th", which to some schools means ON the 15th, to some means after business hours on the 15th, and to some means after 12:00 AM on the 16th.

All my schools fit into the final category, which is what my countdown is set to.

LossForWords countdown is set to 5:00 PM EST on the 15th.

Set yours accordingly.

depends on the school, but this is from the aamc website,

"Each school notify all applicants - other than Combined College/M.D., Early Decision Program (EDP), and deferred matriculation applicants - of acceptance to medical school only after October 15 of each admission cycle. It may be appropriate to communicate notifications of decisions other than acceptance to medical school to applicants prior to October 15."
