October 16, 2008 - "Match Day" for M0?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
7 days 5 hrs 30 min!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have 2 meetings on the 15th. One of them I have to present in front of a bunch of people for a good portion of it. So like... I'm not gonna be able to frantically status check, answer my phone, check my e-mail, etc.

AHHHHHH!

you guys are lucky.. us texans have to wait til nov 15th.... and that's on a saturday... so itll prob be on november 17th before we get any word.

i wish i applied to OOS

6 days, 15 hours, and 7 minutes!

(And i didn't "forget" the countdown last night - I figured twice in one day was enough or someone might pick on me... hahaha)

This is SDN you should know you will get picked on no matter what! 😉

I'm half excited half panicked for the big day. Rejections and waitlists will make me a sad panda.

I'm almost numb to it now really. I remember getting all excited when it was just under a month to go. I'm starting to get a little sick of all the hurry-up-and-wait stuff.

Oh well. 6 days, and 6 hours until 5pm EST on 10/15!

My theme song these days is "One Step At A Time" by Jordan Sparks.

I know, i almost feel like maybe ignorance is bliss? What if I get rejected from my #1 🙁 Very likely. I've been picking my interview apart for the past few weeks.

Agreed. And the fact that one of my schools told the interviewees that they would have our decision at the committee meeting TODAY but we can't know until the 15th and another school's status page says that a decision has been made doesn't make it any easier!

My decision at my top school was made on SEPTEMBER 12! One reason why I've been so panicky. Haha.

anyone know how the Texas schools notify OOSers about acceptances on the 15th (email, phone call, etc.)?

As I think about it, only Ohio State and Case will have made their decisions available on the 16th. I am very anxious for this day to come. But then again, I want this year's US election to be over even more.

Last year Hopkins called people on the 16th to inform them of their acceptances. They also put everyone's decision in the mail on the 15th so that they arrived around the 17th. So that might be another one for you to worry about as well.

There's just no end, is there?

Anyone know specifically if Pritzker releases / calls / whatever on the 15th? Or 16th? Or waits...?

I belieeeeeve they said we would be getting calls by the end of October....could be wrong though.

I'm pretty sure both Tulane and Gtown only send acceptances via snail mail. Sucks.

Since I found out Columbia doesn't send out initial decisions until March 1st, I am now counting down to that date as well...

142 days, 11 hours, 17 minutes to March 1st!!!!!

Ugh. I can't imagine waiting that long. By then I'd want to already have acceptances, decided where I'm going, have a deposit ready for my new apartment, and learning the ropes of my "place-holder" job.

Always coming through in the clutch, rplyler. I think JHU had the friendliest interviewee pool to date.

No problem. I was just bored and curious the other day so I started looking through old threads.

I also agree that we had a really great applicant group that day. One of the best thus far.

5 days, 13 hrs, 10 min!!!! (until 12:00am 10/15)

Michigan is also notorious for sending out their first round of accepts at around 12:01 am on the 16th.

Yup. I remember they did that a few yers ago, when the current 3rd years were applying to med school. I had quite a few friends applying that year and knew some ppl on here who were waiting for them. Its odd how schools will do that but it is rather amusing.

I just read "The curious incident of the dog in the night-time." Briefly, it's a quasi-mystery novel whose narrator is autistic. I took comfort in the following quote.

"And it's best if you know a good thing is going to happen, like an eclipse or getting a microscope for Christmas. And it's bad if you know a bad thing is going to happen, like having a filling or going to France. But I think it is worst if you don't know whether it is a good thing or a bad thing which is going to happen."

A sentiment we can all appreciate. 🙂

By the way, it's a fantastic novel.

I agree wholeheartedly. 👍

It's a really good read for anyone who hasn't come across it yet.
