the antibiotic destroys the normal flora (bacteria) in the intestine that is responsible for the linkage with glucoronide (acts like a carrier) and reuptake of the hormones from the intestine. Therefore, a decrease in hormone levels could occur....but has never been clinically proven except for Rifampin.
Dexamethasone..has no effect whatsoever on OC.
