It is impossible to score 30 on the biology and general chemistry sections of the DAT. Biology has an upper limit of 29, which represents a perfect score in that section. A score of 28 for the general chemistry section is the ceiling. If anybody says otherwise, they are bluffing you. Scoring a 30 on the rest of the DAT sections is possible. Those sections include reading comprehension, organic chemistry, quantitative reasoning, and PAT.

The adcom was lying through his gleaming teeth about seeing 30's across his desk "every few years". A 30 on the DAT is not possible even if you got every question right on the exam. He has never seen an overall DAT score of 30. Nobody has. In fact, a DAT taker would need flawless scores in biology (29), general chemistry (28), and organic chemistry (30) sections for a total science (TS) score of 29 and to set up the possible 29AA. That is assuming you are perfect on RC, PAT, and QR as well! 😱
I'll say it again: An applicant must not miss a single question on all three of the sciences for a 29 total science score. IF they made it that far, then they would need almost perfect scores on the rest of the DAT sections for an overall DAT score of 29 AA. A total science score of 29 means they didn't miss a single question on GC, OC, and BIO sections. Seems unlikely, doesn't it?
So ddsmack's "boy" that scored a 28AA means that he essentially got every DAT question right. He missed 3-4 questions at most across the entire 4-hour exam with perfect 30's in a majority of the sections, and no more than one wrong answer in each of the other sections. Missing two questions in any one section would prevent such a score.
