Before just sending me to predents.com and ADEA 44th edition, realize that I've consulted those sources and am just looking for suggestions to my already researched list:

Arizona
Nova
Tennessee
UAB
Buffalo
Ohio State
Virginia Commonwealth

Approximate stats:
3.7 overall, 3.6 science, 20/20/17 AA/TS/PAT, Alabama resident

Basically I am wondering if any of these schools are basically a waste to apply to if I just flat out don't have what they are looking for... or if there are any schools which I have overlooked that I would be silly to not apply to because they are just that good and I may have a chance to get in.

Big factors (no particular order)
- overall cost of attendance
- clinical experience
- school not located in a bad neighborhood or dreary city (i've heard temple and case wouldn't gel with me for these reasons)

- research is not that important to me
- warmer weather is a plus, but definitely NOT a significant factor

And I apologize in advance because I know there are lots of these types of threads out there... but my advisor is just not very helpful (she seems to only like the pre-med kids).

Thanks!

P.S. i'm also curious if you can have aadsas send your application to more schools down the line if you do better or worse than expected on the DAT (add more reach schools or lower tier schools).

I can't say much about your list other than Ohio State. Your chances aren't impossible by any means. You have great stats but they only take about 25% of there class from out of state so that ends up being around 25 students. Then they give precedence to Ohio State Undergrads from out of state first.

I'm really just saying this because Ohio has long gray fall/winters and it always depresses me when I go there to visit my in-laws. Now it could be the fact that I'm visiting in-laws, but I don't think so. If you do apply there, apply early to give your self the best shot. On a positive note, they don't ask for an application fee if they don't like your aadsas application.

Good Luck and you could add schools to your aadsas list later in the cycle last year, so I'm assuming you still can this year.

Ohio St. has older facilities and is pretty expensive.
VCU is a mediocre school in a really bad part of Richmond (it's not an unusual occurrence for students to get mugged on/around campus). Plus, it's quite expensive for an out of stater.
UT is notorious for treating their students badly. Also, it's not in the best part of Memphis.
Arizona is quickly getting a good reputation as a great clinical school, but their interview process is notoriously random.
Nova has beautiful facilities and a great location, but it's not cheap.

UAB is one of the best southern schools, it's in a nice part of Birmingham, it's crazy cheap for in staters(such as yourself), and plus the students seem pretty happy. I'd say pick a few of those others as a backup plan in case you completely blow your interview, but you'd be crazy not to go to UAB. Just my opinion.
