Yeah I will probably will have a combination of reviewing and relaxing. Im already reviewing right now and am pretty much done with studying. I think I will just do a light review on Thursday, go through the AAMC 11 I took, then say f*** it.

I'm writing on Saturday the 6th but I have to drive up 3 hours the day before, so Friday is mostly a lost cause for me haha. Just finished AAMC FL11: 13PS/11VR/14BS (38). I'm feeling a lot better after the dip on AAMC 10. My plan is to review it today and then finish making notes on any difficult topics tonight/tomorrow, so I can review every weak spot encountered through 8 practice exams tomorrow night and throughout Friday.

I'm starting to get quite nervous :scared:

I will most definitely be reviewing tomorrow.

Honestly I know the feeling, I've always felt the MCAT anxiety but today is the first day where my heart actually races a bit when I think about how close the test is... 😵

I hadn't really had any anxiety until today but I know it's so important going in believing you're going to rock it, so I'm just going to work really hard convincing myself of that (and doing last minute cramming).

Cram like a boss! Tonight I'm making a half-page of notes for every topic which I had difficulty with on all my FLs. Tomorrow I'll finish those notes and then I'm going to read through them at least once, and then again a few more times while I drive up on Friday.

The Writing Sample is probably going to brutalize my MCAT-riddled body, though. Too bad...😎

Hey guys, just took this exam last week and the August one is NOTHING like the practice tests. Good luck and don't freak out too much, just prepare yourself.

I'm confused...how do you already know? If you just took the MCAT last week, ours will be a different test.

Your dream never just comes to you, you have to chase it... Walk in there tomorrow, chin up and **** that exam up... That what I will be doing..

Good luck everyone! I couldn't force myself to go back to sleep anymore lol. We will all do great. I am fortunate enough to have the luxury of having my best friend there with me today taking the MCAT in the same place lol. Hopefully that'll cool my nerves a little

Very difficult IMO, PS especially. VR and BS were manageable in my opinion. What are your thoughts?

Mine's tomorrow... cant count on anything being the same, was your PS calculation heavy? I'm hoping for a gchem heavy calculation light PS... i can deal with hard VR and BS (maybe 😵) but PS is my weakness especially math qs and physics.

PS - Easily the most difficult section. The first half or so was pretty straightforward, and then there was one pretty nutty passage that threw me off and put me behind the eight ball time-wise.

VR - Standard

WR - Standard, good prompts

BS - Not bad, felt pretty much like the FLs, aside from one or two of the orgo discretes, which were kinda wonky.

wow... that was terrible. I got absolutely wrecked on the whole test.
The physical science was crazy.
That prob messed me up the whole rest of the test, I thought the verbal was more difficult than usual and the bio was standard.
...i dont think ive felt worse after a test.

PS- fair
Vs- fair
WS- easy
BS- I thought easily the hardest section. I thought it was boardline almost unfair. But I'm not too upset bc I thought the rest of the test was fine.

sometimes you do better than you think you did, cheer up, and remember it's just a test and you can retake it if you need to but don't be surprised to find you did better than you expected

this test is random, challenging and can be demoralizing but in the end if you put in the time, effort and dedication, it's possible to do well and just lose faith/hope!

PS - where was the physics??? otherwise pretty fair
VR - ridiculously long passages..
BS - harder than all practice AAMC exams

overall: I probably shouldn't have retaken my 12-8-12.. ugh

PS: Not bad except 1 passage, slightly more calculation heavy than practice tests (unlike most people so far I actually thought this to be the easiest section)
Verbal: Neutral...I didn't feel as focused as I could have been. Not really hard though but seemed more detail oriented than practice tests
Writing: liked 1 prompt, hated the other
BS: My hardest section by far. Did not feel good about it AT ALL. Much more based on comprehension of passages and I felt like my outside knowledge didn't really help on more than a couple questions.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who thought this was pretty tough

Agree. I was averaging 32+ on practice exams, with 34 on AAMC 11 (last one I took). Ran out of time on PS.

Found it to be a pretty fair exam overall. Reminded my of the AAMC exams.

PS: Not too bad overall, though I felt like there were a bunch of question I didn't know the answer to.

VR: Pretty long passages I felt, but they were mostly easy to read except for a killer passage. I was reading faster than I usually do, but my timing was still about the same (I almost always have to rush the last two passages and this was no exception)

BS: Not too bad. Orgo questions threw me I think, but felt siimilar to AAMC.

This is exam was deff hard.. It feels like whatever I did to prepare for the exam didn't help.

I thought PS and BS were doable, but I got killed in VR. It was different than the aamcs and the reading were just more difficult. From what I can remember, there were long questions in the VR and it felt like 4/7 of the passages were hard" difficulty. I honestly feel that vr kept me from my score but you never know.

I thought the exam was actually pretty near the practice tests difficulty wise. This was a retake for me and it felt 100x easier than last time i took it...either because i studied more or because the test was easier...

PS- Fair. Had to "educated guess" on about 5. Some Qs were tough but I studied so I'm pretty sure I got them.

VR-Actually felt really good about this. Had to flat-out guess on 1 question because I forgot to answer it when I was reviewing and had about 10 seconds to go. Otherwise really stoked. Wasn't expecting a 15 anyways. Needed to improve this section most so I'm pretty sure I did that.

BS- Fair. Had to "educated guess" on about 5...so I'm hoping for an 12+. Some questions were tough for me, but I think I reasoned through them well. My practices were pretty high so I wont be angry if I get less (provided I still do well)

Hard...

PS - NOTHING like the other practice AAMC tests - hardest in the whole test.

VR - Every single passage was veryyyyy long...

BS - Similar to AAMC 11 except for Orgo

Was really hard overall

lol okay so my first post was from my phone so i didn't get to really give my full analysis

PS- I thought it was pretty ok. There was one passage, that actually hit one of my strengths, but I still found it really difficult. A couple discretes I thought were difficult. And a few other questions. I thought it was MUCH easier than my first PS section on last years MCAT.

VR- I was so happy lol. Every passage I found really easy to read for the most part...I thought the first verbal passage was the toughest. But overall not bad...

BS- Okay, this is where I thought I got crushed the most. At some parts I felt really good, and at other parts I felt like WTF is going on lol. Some of the orgo really pissed me off. Orgo is my strongest so I was really upset. I got a 14 on AAMC 11 but there is no way I got a 14 here. Hopefully a 10...

Overall a really fair MCAT. No crazy section like the 7/6 BS lol. Every section had its hard parts (biology I thought the most) but overall it wasn't too bad.

For VR I felt like I guessed on a lot of the questions, so this is probably going to be the section thats going to cause me to retake D:

As for PS and BS, I have to agree that there were some questions that I felt like I went full ****** on, but other than that it was okay; maybe 10+?

Writing samples werent too bad.

i think my overall score might be < 30 yikes

I felt the same way about vr.. Its deff gonna cause me to retake. Why was this so bad for us? Im still trying to figure out what went wrong. I think the passages were hard reads, and some of the questions were really long as well. There were no stand out answers at all.

I'm sure you guys did fine. look at the 6/16 thread for hope!

So was the general consensus that there were more calculation oriented questions on PS than the AAMC, and that the verbal passages were longer?

Seemed like less calculation to me. I felt like AAMC11 had some ridiculous calculations, but there weren't as many here i felt. Verbal passages definitely seemed longer.

That was rough! When's the soonest that I can retake it? I just felt so flustered after the PS.

PS- a couple of rough passages. discrete questions were generally okay.
VR- It was very difficult to employ anything similar to the kaplan mapping strategies that I had learned because they were just so long and annoying. Read one of them and was just baffled- skipped it and came back with 3 minutes left.
Bio- I thought it was fair. Couple of the orgo discretes were annoying.

Also, my computer was really slow. I tried to skip ahead and do the discretes (another kaplan strategy) and going from passage to passage took what seemed like forever. when things were loading the clock did not tick but still, it was annoying. Is this a general Prometric thing or was this just me?

Pretty difficult especially verbal reasoning.

1) PS - It seemed ok in the beginning and then towards the end it went terrible for me. Also is it just me or there were more chemistry passages than physics?
2) VR - The passages were ridiculously long. I don't know about anyone here but I had to rush through the last two passages. I don't recall the verbal passages being that long on the AAMC tests.
3) WS - Very easy. The two topics given weren't too bad.
4) BS - Again the beginning seemed ok and then it just went down hill again. The organic chemistry was a bit tougher. And I agree with someone else's post I did not use that much outside information.

I def. did not have as much time to check it over. Also, does anyone know about how the MCAT is curved? Is there even a curve? I heard that the harder the test the better cause you can get more wrong and still get a relatively decent score (but I don't know if that is true). Anyway in my opinion the test was a bit difficult especially towards the end of each section.

Had a topic I was questioning even bothering studying, knew and understood it anyways...

shows up on the test...

get overexcited/time crunched and marked the wrong choice...

I could tell you what choice ABCD is correct now too, without even seeing the choices again. Ughh.

Overall, it felt pretty difficult to me, but not extremely and unmanageably difficult.

PS: A few passages were tougher than I expected, as well as a few discretes. After time ended, I completely realized the correct answer to one of the questions, and was bummed that I couldn't go back and change it. Oh well, had to clear my mind for VR. Overall, it felt a little more difficult than the AAMC practice tests. Hoping for an 11 or 12.

VR: The difficulty seemed to be about on par with the AAMC tests, but the passages were so much longer! Caught me off guard... had to spend ten minutes on the first passage and kind of play catch-up after that. I ended up having enough time to get through all of the passages, but only about a minute left after to go back and look over my answers. Got a 10 on VR on every practice test, so hopefully I got a 10 on this one too.

WS: Prompts weren't too bad. Probably could've come up with better examples, but hopefully mine will be sufficient.

BS: Felt a lot more difficult than any of the practice tests. Definitely seemed like a lot more passage comprehension than outside knowledge. Seemed more like a VR section, and I don't feel like I used much outside knowledge. Orgo was a bit crazy from what I was used to seeing, but made a few educated guesses and hoping for the best. Hoping for a 10 or 11.

As for now... going on an Alaskan cruise tomorrow to get some much needed vacation and relaxation time.
Hoping for the best in 30 days. My locker number was 36, so hopefully that's a sign! Hahaha.
Congratulations everyone, let's all get good news in 30 days!

PS: Chemistry, chemistry, chemistry..oh here's some random physics you probably didn't study.. Difficult

VR: Me: "Okay, here's a long passage. There should be a short one coming up soon. I shouldn't have to know all these minor details. Test: "Nope, know these minor details, and here's some more long passages, no short ones."
I DID NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH THIS

Essay: Not bad but I felt ****ty at this time due to the previous sections

BR: AAMC 11 BIO X 9000!!! O-chem, not so bad.

sigh....

Im happy others are complaining about vr as well.. These were deff longer than the aamcs and I had rush as well. I guess since it was harder, it's pre-determined curve should be good. For example, to score a 7 it should probably be around 21/40?

to those who took this exam today...did anyone use Berkley for Bio, would you say the bio as well as physics was on the same level?

PS: def chemistry heavy
VR: usually takes me about 8 min per passage ( per AAMC practices). When i finished the first passage, i was already down to 48 min 😱
BS: fair

:luck:Good luck guys!

So what is everyone doing for the next month to get your mind off of it? Running a half marathon Sept 11th, and working a whole ton personally.

I used TBR for just about everything. And yes, it helped alot for bio...not as much as I had hoped for physical. Verbal was longer, and was more difficult than the AAMC's that I had written. I felt a bit uncertain about it.

My overall assessement was that physical was tougher than the AAMC (no big suprise), verbal was more difficult, and bio was in line with AAMC #11 and the couple of passages they put out in their official guide. I think TBR did a good job with Bio, excellent job with orgo, and well...I can't fault them for physical or verbal because I don't think they could have done a better job. I kept my composure for the exam, but the verbal is making me feel uncertain. Oh ya....can't forget the writing sample, both were manageable prompts...but no one really cares, haha.

was this topic in the BS...i think we had the same one

PS: G Chem really heavy... fair section...
VS: I think I blew it... long passages
BS: a little hard but not bad overall
