I called the admissions office yesterday, and the lady that I spoke with said that letters were only sent to those who interviewed before Feb. 3. Just wanted to reassure those of you who (like myself) interviewed late.
 
Got an acceptance by snailmail today in NYC.
 
Crap. Waitlisted at Vandy and now Pitt. MCATs are the bane of my existence. What's the waitlist movement like at those two schools, anyway?
 
I got waitlisted today too.
 
I just got the big packet via snail mail

I was one of those cases where neither of my interviewers contacted me before today...so don't despair if you haven't heard anything yet 🙂
 
I emailed my STUDENT interviewer, and he emailed me back telling me that I got in! I haven't gotten the snail mail for today yet... but if it comes i'll update. In any regard, although I'm very happy and excited that I will now be a doctor! Now I just have to wait for all those other schools to decide 🙁 🙁 🙁
 
Decisions were only sent out to those who interviewed before 02/03? Damn, I interviewed on the 4th. Oh well, I am just getting antsy because my whole decision making process depends on this one school. I guess a bit more waiting won't kill me, but HURRY UP PITT!!!

neither of my interviewers e-mailed me so i was freakin out but just like it has been said before have faith. I got my good news today. Good luck everybody. My first acceptance... so this is how it feels... i think i'll go to the beach and just lay there forever. Peace.
 
hey everyone - i got the email from fac interviewer and snail mail acceptance (in baltimore) today

btw, i thought it was kind of cool how my acceptance letter was somewhat personalized. In the first paragraph, it sad something like "we feel that your outstanding academic performance at [School] and such experiences as your research with [Prof X] warrant our conviction that you'll be a good doc." I think this has been the only acceptance letter so far where they actually said some things about why they accepted you. Did anyone else get this in their letter too?

unfortunately, i won't be going there so i hope an SDNer on the waitlist gets my spot.
 
Got the email today, well actually last night. Pitt rocks my world. But no snail mail in Baltimore yet for me.

Please someone, either applicant or first year med student, post some news about how the Pitt waitlist works (movement, how large, how we can find out....) I was waitlisted today and I really would give anything to attend the school. Thanks so much and congrats to all those who got in!!!!!!

I got good news from Pitt today, too.

(FYI: mailed to KY, interviewed 9/13, no email from either interviewer, and my letter was "personalized" w/ my school and an e.c.)

Yeah, I remember you with the 6'8" wingspan, or something like that! We interviewed on the same Friday the 13th. Congrats, Pitt rocks. Yeah, the fill-in-the-blank custom acceptance letter was kind of transparent, but I am nevertheless stoked. Now I have some tough decisions to make.

Well I interviewed in late January and I still haven't gotten anything.

I guess I will get my rejection letter tomorrow. Why the hell is mail so slow to come to my house.

IS THERE A FORCE SHIELD THAT PREVENTS MAIL COMING TO ME IN A TIMELY FASHION.

God damn it. I am supposed to get something from Mount Sinai too.

Well I'll let you guys know if I get anything tomorrow.

ha ha - yes, same here. Don't actually know whats happening as haven't received the snailmail or emails from interviewers, and now I am on some mass mailing list....I assume you also got the email from someone asking about the $100 deposit 🙄
 
Yes, got that e-mail, as well as the question about the deposit. The e-mail greets the accepted/waitlisted, but one of the descriptions makes it sound like only accepted people are on that list.

Anyone get anything if they interviewed after Feb 3...

sigh. I thought I had a rocking chance. No snail mail-- though I compulisvely call my parents to check the mail. No emails-- God knows how often I check it. And now another e-mail that I have not gotten... I'm surprised I haven't gone bald or grown white hair through this process...

To boot, I sent my Faculty Interviewer a thank you e-mail and just to touch base over two weeks ago, and it returns as undeliverable mail. Sent it again. Same result. Sent a new one, Same result. I should have guessed that someone was trying to tell me something when they won't even accept my e-mails!

Grrrrrrrrr.

For those of you who interviewed after 2/3, just want to let you know that I interviewed on 2/10 and got my acceptance yesterday (my first) 😀 by snail mail in Chicago. I got an email from my faculty interviewer this morning as well so it looks like they are moving quickly on the late interviews. Best of luck to everyone.
 
congratulations to those who got the email. :clap: i was waitlisted but didn't get it so it means its most likely an acceptance.

pitts by far the strangest waitlist letter. it takes them 2 paragraphs of mumbo jumbo before they say: "the admissions committe has reviewed your creditionsa nd considers them to be EXCELLENT. They have elected to place you on the waiting list". HUH? 😕

Boy Wonder, I'm calling Pitt if I don't get something in today's mail. I don't know if Durham mail is just slow ... haven't heard anything from Duke, either (also mailed Monday), but we on the Duke thread are getting suspicious as to whether any letters really have been mailed ...

well, to be honest, I would too, except for by time I get home and check the mail, it'll be around 7:30pm east coast time so I don't think anyone'll be there 🙁
 
Waitlist in Philadelphia - and didn't get this so called "acceptance and waitlist" mass e-mail, so was panicking and rushed down to check my snailmail.

My fifth waitlist! Thrillsville.

I got the email from faculty interviewer and the acceptance packet snail mail in Maine today.


Does anyone know if Pitt has a second look weekend? I think I remember my student host mentioning her's last year, but don't they usually mention that in the acceptance packet? Maybe it will be in another mailing...

Linda (admissions director) told me that the scholarship committee met before decisions were mailed, and my understanding is that scholarship offers are included with acceptance.

Of course, I wouldn't know ...

Where's the love for the PA residents? No emails for me or snail mail yet & I live 2 hours from Pitt. I guess that means a big fat REJECTION...

I just got my letter from Pitt in the mail today!!!!! Woo hoo! Another waitlist!
Just kidding...I'm bummed. I AM the undisputed waitlist champion. So much for anticipating Penn's letter next week. I'm pretty sure No Pitt = No Penn.
 
Whew, finally! The big envelope arrived ... 🙂

What's really pathetic is that Duke mailed decisions the same day, but their letter nonetheless has not managed to find my mailbox, a mere 6 miles or so away ...

Hey everyone, I got the mass emails, and the new email by Joey saying congrats on being accepted! Cept, I havne't got any congratulatory email from my interviewer, nor have I received the snail mail yet!!
