i am a first year, and while i immediately emailed my applicants that got in, not all of my peers were aware that they should do the same (they were never interviewed when they applied). we all just got out of class now and about 1/3 of the mailboxes were still unchecked. until now, we have been very busy today, so expect the majority of emails to go out tonight.
-also, i would email your interviewer if you're dying to know. i wouldn't mind at all, even if the student didn't get in; and im sure none of my classmates would mind either- remember, we were in your shoes less than 1 year ago, and we truly sympathize.
last note- a big chunk of our class is from the waitlist, so dont feel too bad if that's the outcome.
to those that got in. sincere congratulations. this is a fantastic school_ very very laid back, fun, chill place to study medicine. if you guys have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
fyi- it's really interesting who got in and who didn't. out of my cursory observations, i noticed that only those with very favorable student reviews_ not merely lukewarm_ got in (but of course not everyone with a very favorable review got in_ i heard of a few 10s get snubbed). my point is that the student interviews seem to have counted a whole lot more than we thought they would.
