OMG. I'm so saddened. This guy has practically the same stats as I do, graduated from the same college with the same degree (I actually looked him up in the alum directory; he graduated 15 years before me).... ARGH!

Well, my confidence is shot.

I wouldn't worry.

Lane, I don't know what their MCAT cut off is. I had a 29Q but I retook this Aug because I wasn't happy with my 9 in VR - or the other two scores for that matter. Good luck with loyola!

PS - their secondary doesn't look like too much fun - it is a bunch of boring questions.

hey, no worries. I saw his site a couple weeks ago, and I figured the following:

1)He was applying when the application process was MUCH more competitive than it is now. The early nineties were a bad, bad time to be an applicant. I think there was 40,000+ candidates then as opposed to the 30,000+ that we've seen recently.

2)He makes a quiet crack about LORs. This is complete inference from my part, but...you have to wonder.

that's all I've got. It's a little flimsy, but...yeah, that site made me want to cry too.

He also just may not have interviewed well. If he seemed introverted or anything like that. I mean, he doesn't say where he got interviewed. He may have had tons and just didn't come off well in any.

How can the rejections have already started? I thought that AAMC schools were required to wait until Oct. 15 before making any kinds of decisions.

what the f***! i have a pretty decent mcat, a high gpa from ucla, lots of research/publication, president of honors society BLAH BLAH BLAH, and this crappy school rejects me before i even got a secondary? i hear they give preference to michigan residents, but c'mon. anyone else out there who got the reject letter from good old crap state?

I applied there last year, got rejected presecondary. This year I applied with same GPA and MCAT, got a secondary just because I'm a Michigan resident.
Hope that is some comfort.

I am adding SUNY upstate. I got a letter that I am on "hold". I am taking this as a rejection because I highly doubt that after they interview all their applicants they will dip back into the regular applicant pool. I had high hopes for this school even though I am out of state, I graduated from a SUNY.

Post secondary....but I swear to god it is because of my 7 in verbal. I bet they look for anything crazy, like D1 Athlete....then just scan by the numbers, and they don't look at the total MCAT, they look at each section. I seriously doubt it was because of bad essays.
