i don't think they look at letters of recommendation until after you've done the interview (at least that's what i understand from the info that accompanied the secondary), so they probably spent longer thinking about your application than you think. i think the timing of the decision after you just sent in your letters was just coincidental.

It took Georgetown FOREVER to reject me (I think about a month). When did you have the rest of your application in. The above-poster makes sense that they prolly don't look at your LORs until after the interview, but I also don't think they even start to review your application until it's complete. I think what's quick and dirty about the rejection was the four-sentence letter: "Sorry, you suck. Good luck." I heard somewhere, though, that you have to be of a certain "breed" to go to any of the GTown schools. Like, you need to have a family member in politics, or an uncle who went there, or have attended some fancy shmancy private school in Connecticut. I have a friend who got into two ivies and was rejected from GTown undergrad, so it kind of makes sense. Maybe I'm just trying to rationalize my rejection, though.

With your stats and EC's, I doubt many schools will reject you. But you did apply to top tier schools, so they might take a bit longer. It probably gets discouraging because they are taking so long to respond, but you are highly competitive and I am sure you know that. Just need to keep off SDN with the neurotic pre-meds who finished their apps in the first week of june and waited two months for responses.
