To make the thread a little easier to read, I think the schools should be listed in alphabetical order. I think it's good otherwise.
 
Technically, the Universities should come before the UTs. But I don't that constitutes a real issue.

Well, so long as they're all prefixed with UT, everyone pretty much stays together (except Baylor, which would be off on it's UT-less lonesome), without pesky states like Tennessee getting in the way.:laugh:

so pitt decided to show me some love and sent me an interview invite today. I wonder if I gonna be able to meet a surgeon there (I think they ask for your prefered interview specality.)

How many people do they interview?
 
1) So has anyone noticed that we are a bit behind this year? In last years invite thread by this date there were TONS of interviews from lots of schools, whats the deal?

2) Secondly, does ANYONE know what the deal with Tulane is? How do we even know we are complete? Last year by this time people were getting invites, and this year I don't even know if I submitted... I paid, but who knows!

I was expecting more by this point as well. Perhaps this cycle really is that much more competitive than last cycle.
 
hey guys..just a quick question..if we were complete at some schools and haven't received interviews whereas others were complete after us and did,..does this mean we have been passed over at least once..i.e. for chicago does that mean a rejection?

No, not at all. Many schools this early in the game will give invites out to the ultracompetitive applicants first. Don't worry, there's still PLENTY of time, especially knowing how this year is going so far.

hey guys..just a quick question..if we were complete at some schools and haven't received interviews whereas others were complete after us and did,..does this mean we have been passed over at least once..i.e. for chicago does that mean a rejection?

Well, some schools have different subcommittees that meet by region to discuss applicants (Pritzker, WashU), so they don't all come up with decisions at the same time (which isn't to say that those decisions aren't looked over by another, higher committee). Furthermore, this early in the game, if they haven't explicitly told you they've rejected you (and they're rolling), you haven't been rejected.

Although blueskyline and I (I couldn't figure the location of schwerbert or coping methods) are in very different regions. I just think that 8/1 was the first day that U Chicago started sending invites. Don't freak out that you haven't gotten one yet, the painful waiting process is only beginning.

They only send the secondary to people invited for an interview.

It's good to hear the process is moving at Vandy, this limbo land is frustrating.

Vandy only sends secondaries to those they invite for interviews. A way to minimize clutter perhaps?
 
I think a lot of schools are just slower this year. I don't think it's a reflection of a significantly more competitive pool of applicants. A lot of secondaries came out later, so it makes sense that interviews are behind also.

If I am not mistaken Vanderbilt sends secondaries only to those applicants who are invited to interview.
