shoot flipped my #1 and #2...15 mins left to decide if that was a mistake or not

my cerem😱ny is scheduled to start at 10am, which is 12p EST (God I love the rockies!) so I'm sure I'll get mine officially released---or I will be released to learn my fate at 1pm EST just like all of you.

really?? i thought you were decided!
Me too! This sucks...👎 I'd be happy at both my #1 or #2 though...
i switched my 3 and 4... i'd love any of my top 7 and would be thrilled just to match.
"#Neurotic Med Student Rant = I feel like "Certify List" is not definitive enough!"
It's all over! I wonder how long it will be until they actually run the algorithm for the first time.
They probably just ran it. And are just going to make us squirm for the next three weeks. Argh
I know, I had my list done a few days ago...but logged in probably 12 times in the last hour just to make sure the giant, green, "Certified ROL" was there. So what happens if we log in now?
... Reason: Apparently I got conned by a troll
I submitted my ROL on Friday and had been thinking since then about switching my #1 and #2, but I didn't end up doing it. Now the option is gone, and it's actually a relief. Deciding how to rank those two was really tough; I could have just as easily gone the other way. Part of me kind of does hope that I end up at #2 instead of #1, but the truth is that I'd be ecstatic to end up at either of them.

Ha, I know. I probably logged in about 15x today, just staring at the green letters. Then I went through the directory and compared the program codes on my rank list to make sure they matched up. then I looked at the green letters again, lol. truly neurotic.I know, I had my list done a few days ago...but logged in probably 12 times in the last hour just to make sure the giant, green, "Certified ROL" was there. Yeah, in a way it's kind of nice to have the decision be taken out of my hands. I mean, I agonized for months about which medical school to choose. I had like half a dozen of them that I loved.I did switch my #1 and #2 but I feel the same exact way 👍

I only checked by name and not code too. Maybe the senioritis is just setting in sooner for me, but I can't work up enough angst to even consider wasting the next 15-20 minutes looking up all the codes. You shouldn't either. It will be fine. Really. 🙂I never double checked the program codes because I assumed the names were correct. Now, I'm scared to go check in case they are all wrong. Maybe I should stop reading this thread before I freak myself out completely!
lol, don't stress yourself out titoincali. what I did was completely useless. I just did it to satisfy my compulsion. time to start the haloperidol
I totally agree!!! I'm from a DO school, and we don't do the whole match day thing because half the class does the osteo and half the class does allo, and I'm very glad I don't have to suffer that agony. It's an antequated tradition that should be tossed out ASAP.
Stupid question that I'm sure is hiding somewhere in this forum, but I'm too lazy to look--we get our results in email AND on the NRMP website, right? I may not have access to a computer at the time the results are released but can check it on my iPhone, which, of course, doesn't allow access to the NRMP site...

Officially 3 weeks to go (certainly beats 11 weeks, but not as good as 12 hours...)
Can someone please explain match day a bit more to me? I got our student affairs people to tell me that there's no required announcing to the class where you matched, but other than that I have no idea. Do they hand out all envelops in the beginning? After a long speech? How to they hand them out? I've got a small class, but with the level of neuroticism involved I wouldn't want to wait for everyone. Furthermore, is it legal for us to know prior to 1pm EST? Do they hand out the envelops before then, or do we all just wait until 1pm before ripping them open?

Most of us at our school love Match Day (pending we match!). We get the day off from clinic responsibilities, and most rotations give us the following day off too, since it would be inappropriate to be hung over taking care of patients. I don't think our attending would consider vomiting along with your patient a form of 'patient bonding'. 😀 Too bad I'm on my Medicine Sub-I next month. I'll just take a sick day.

Wow so some of you guys actually changed your list around right before the deadline? I was even too scared to log on in the afternoon because I was worried that my list might somehow get "un-certified" and then the system might be too slow to recertify it before the deadline.
A quick question: would it be ok to log on the NRMP website from now until the match? Could I possibly cause any problems such as uncertifying my list? I just want to see that green "certified ROL" one more time.![]()

😴I am so over the wait and it has only been one day since we certified. I am on a boring rotation and I have watched all the series Psych on Netflix recently. awesome BTW....great show.
I am so desperate I have considered starting Grey's Anatomy season 1 on netflix. Lets hope something better comes along before I regret that decision.
Sigh...T-minus 21 days.😳
haha, this was me back in january, and i did end up doing the grey's marathon and am all caught up now! The sad thing is, I also finished most of 30rock (hilarious show, btw) and am thinking about starting another series (good suggestions, anyone?). I either need to 1) increase my etoh intake 2)find some other hobbies 3) match day needs to hurry the he11 up. Somehow, I dont think #3 is an option. 🙁
I'm passing the time by spending it in the gym, taking random fun classes (pole dancing, anyone?), and working on my (amateur) mixology skills.
I reccomend The Skeptic's Guide to the Universe. Though it's for EM folks, EM:RAP is also good.I've been introduced to the wonder that is podcasts. Love them--can listen to them for hours every day. And have been. There is literally no topic under the sun that someone hasn't podcasted about. And some of them are actually well done!
How funny; we evidently have similar podcast taste. One of the podcasts I really like is Skepticality. I'll check the Universe one out--for sure listening to all 300 of those podcasts would keep me busy for a while! EM:RAP is good, but it's not free. I've spent enough money this year; I'm not looking to spend more, especially when there are so many good podcasts available for free. If you want some good free EM podcasts, try Toxcast and EMCrit. One other medical podcast I really like is The Experts Speak, which is put out by the Florida Psychiatric Society. The nice thing about all three of those is that they're relatively short (10-20 minutes for each podcast), so you can easily listen to one while you wash the dishes or do some other chore.I reccomend The Skeptic's Guide to the Universe. Though it's for EM folks, EM:RAP is also good.
