At what point is it safe to assume that movement is done and to go ahead and start submitting for next year. My plan was to wait till late June and then start submitting again. Is that about right?

It depends. Some schools have WL ranks, so if they are at #44, and you are #45, the chances are better.

I would definitely otherwise assume that you'll need to apply again. In the interim, keep funneling update letters, interest letters, phone calls, emails, etc.

if you are on multiple wait lists, get off 1 and accept their offer, but then get another acceptance off a different WL after you've already sent in your matriculation deposit, can you still accept the second offer?

yes...but the original school may or may not give you back your deposit

Just got accepted to New York Medical College off the waitlist on Thursday. Interviewed 9/22/10, waitlisted 12/2/10, accepted 6/16/11.

yeah. might as well submit as early as possible. You don't have to assume movement is done and can still get in after submitting.

IMO it's not over until August 1st when classes start. I've heard stories of people getting calls as they drive across country to another school

One of my friends got off the Cornell waitlist a while back; another got into Georgetown off the waitlist. Downstate's had massive movement. Stony Brook's moving along fairly quickly as well.

Greetings,

SUNY Downstate alternate list/hold list hasn't moved since 6/3/2011. One person was accepted from the wait list on 6/3. The only other movement was all on 5/17-5/18. So in reality, no movement for the last 2+ weeks and painfully slow movement since 5/18.

Doesn't look terribly good here.

Just got in! Third cycle, over 100 rejection. Few osteo acceptances this year but my first allopathic! So excited!

Stats: 37mcat
4.0 post bacc
3.5 undergrad

Congrats! You seem to have crazy stats. Why did it take you 3 cycles? Were you just accepted to schools you didn't like and reapplied?
