AMGs how many programs did you apply to? I was thinking 40-50 next year?
 
Does it matter if you go to one of your top programs in November? My understanding is that they don't make their final rank order list till after the interviews end .

No. Every program is different in how they make their ROL but it's true that the final list won't be done until interviews end.

Great basic science research. Good clinical exposure at multiple hospitals. Not a powerhouse but no slouch. I'd personally choose it over NYU (and after the other 4 NYC academic programs).

It seemed to be a decent program when I interviewed 4-5 years back. They have a great basic science research program, but my impression was that there's no strong track record for academic career after graduation.

Any thoughts on that program? I know it's small, only 2 fellows per year.

I just scheduled- got out of work super late and just remembered that I never emailed back. May just be alphabetical.
 
Yes...I think so since I am not getting any from the east coast and mostly Midwest...

Anyone know anything about Loma Linda? Must choose between that and another interview on the same day...
 
I'm not sure if I can make it to both. Any input on Detroit/Wayne State Univ? I know that the city of Detroit is in bankruptcy. How does that affect the quality of this program? Tks!
 
Wayne state/karmanos is a very good program..anyways the PC stated in her email that there was a mistake in her invitations so wait for a personal invite before cancelling.

you mean mistake with Wayne State invites? the following dates are offered -
Sept. 17, 20
Oct. 1, 4, 8, 15, 18, 22, 25, 29
Nov. 1
 
I guess the same email was sent to everybody through ERAS. Now we need to wait for the personal email from PC to confirm. Interesting!

did anyone receive a personal email soon after? i didn't.

Not so great research-wise. Way behind NCI/NIH or Georgetown.

Wayne State/Karmanos has a good reputation in general. Phase I program there is one of the top in the country.

Yea, I figured being in the shadow of NIH, it would be lacking. Do you know how their clinical training is? Thanks! 🙂

I got the sorry whe are not inviting you ...anyways, went there last year..it is ok..I am going to Henry Ford across the street...funny thing they did not invite las year.. God figures..

very strange. i didn't receive a letter like that.. they just told me to wait for a personal email if i'm invited.

Does anyone know when (within the next few weeks) we should NOT expect any more invitation coming our way? I have a few selected programs that I'd like to hold out for but this is getting so insane.. I have all of my PTO used up and it's just impossible to make it with only one date offered probably due to someone else cancelled at the last minute.. What should I do y'all?? is there anything I could do?? Thanks for hearing me out!!

Michigan state University and UH last week, Ohio state sent me a rejection like 1-2 weeks back, Wayne State sent me rejection, Henry Ford IV last week.
