Does anyone know if most schools will send an e-mail or a phone call? I'm going out of the country for a few weeks and won't be having access to my phone. :(

Do you have a significant amount of ECs/shadowing/research?

Congrats on the interviews!
Yes, I have several extra circulars, I have done quite a bit of shadowing and I have done over a year of undergraduate research. Thanks!

I think A-pluses are unfair, actually... Only in terms of AADSAS calculations. Not all colleges have them, and to compare people on the same scale while still counting grades as above 4.0 throws a lot of things off. But I guess it's awesome for people that have them lol

Have anyone who got their interview at UPenn got notified that your app is complete?

My undergrad had them but it's was set up differently. A+ was 4 points per hour. Then A was like 3.66 points, A- 3.33 points and so forth and so on. So it wasn't crazy like that where you went above a 4.0

TMDSAS will have a "Transmitted to School" under status and a "status date". I would guess that's what you consider the 'complete date'. The three schools should also send you an email when they receive your app which will be a few days after the TMDSAS status date.

I am wondering the same thing... on the AADSAS decisions it says that Penn is still waiting on additional information even though I sent in my supplement with the check that they already cashed. On the Penn website, they say that they don't update the AADSAS status so I just figured that they didn't update it. But now I am wondering if I should have called sooner to see if they are missing anything. Did anyone who who got an interview have their status say that their application was incomplete?

I remembered that my AADSAS status was incomplete even after 10 days since my package had been received by the office. I called the office and the person told me that I needed to wait because they might not have processed it. After a day or two, my application was complete. So I suggest call them.

Same thing happened to me with Penn. My secondary had been filed and my check cashed, but they hadn't marked my app as complete in their system. So call them, they emailed me out a confirmation that my app was complete that day, then updated it in AADSAS

I thought ADSAS standarized everything to A is 4.0 A- is 3.7 and B+ is 3.33. Do they? If not Im kind of upset because thats not fair

They standardize for with +/- and without +/-, so you'll have two different sets of GPA based on which calculation is used.

For starters, my AADSAS was mailed out 7/2 (second batch).
My AADSAS said received/application complete as of 7/2 (hasn't changed since).
And on 7/2 I got an email from Penn saying that my application was complete, they had received my AADSAS, supplemental, app fees, letters of eval and dat scores. It also said that they review in order of when they are complete. That is the last email I got until my interview invite yesterday.

I hope this helps, good luck to everybody. I am super stoked, Penn is definitely one of my top choices!

So they include A+ is what your saying.that sucks

So they include A+ is what your saying.that sucks
But they also don't include it... The gpas literally show up side by side. One with +/- and one without. I don't see why this is a big deal to some people, the difference between those two gpas for me was about 0.06 for my BCP, and 0.01 for my non science lol

wait im confused. Someone told me only texas schools do it without the +/- and regular schools use + or -. So if they do both one would be higher than the other, so do they take the higher GPA. Also when people respond to the forums about GPA and all that, how do you know which one they include, if like you said they use both GPA side by side

Mine are really different... My oGPA is 3.12 with +/- and 3.17 without. And my sGPA is 3.26 with +/- and 3.32 without. And my college didn't do A+ only A or A-.

I'm not sure about Texas, so that might be true. But I imagine people posting here are just using whatever they see on their undergrad transcripts. Dental schools wouldn't just "take one or another." They see both and use both

All else being equal, if the adcoms saw one app with a 3.12/3.26 and another with a 3.17/3.32, that tiny difference would not make or break the applicants.

Interview UPENN

So I actually called to double check if they had my supplemental and the lady was like "uhh you didn't see the email we sent on Friday?"

I actually never got the interview email in my regular or junk mail. So she extended me the interview over the phone.

So, call and ask if you feel like you aren't getting emails!
