Don't be. There will always be those better than you in life. Have solace in knowing these applicants are few and far between and even though they may be sitting on a dozen interviews (well deserved for them) they can only take 1 seat.

Well said. However, I don't believe higher statistics makes one person superior to another in life!
 
This post is to calm us "normal" down people....
I went to my first interview today at The University of Detroit Mercy and was told by both faculty and students that is EXTREMELY early to already have an interview. My stats are not out of this world and two dental students that I had spoken with said they did not receive invitations until winter and spring respectively. People on SDN like to make it seem normal to have a 23+ DAT score and 5 interviews before labor day. I'm here to say it is not normal. We will be fine we just need to remain patient people! I myself am still waiting on 5 schools, the process takes a long time. Hopefully this helps someone out there and good luck! Here are my stats:

Yea, I am presdient of two orgs, one is doing alot of community service work in the city of Detroit, I have over 500 hours of shadowing. Solid DAT score, Low GPA. UDM, Lecom, Indiana, Arizona

I am a biomedical engineer, in charge of head and neck research. 500 hours of shadowing, volunteer at the local dental clinic and I have alot of research experience in dental cements and bio-materials.

Absolutely not. But to an ADCOM there are only so many ways they can rank applicants given the limited information they know about us.

For those of you who may be freaking out about not having crazy high scores - I totally know the feeling of anxiety! I was feeling super inadequate and unsure about my application (for maybe the last 2 years I've lurked SDN) while comparing myself to everyone on SDN with amazing DAT scores/GPAs. I decided to just work really hard on getting my application in early this cycle and have so far I've been really happy with the invitations I've received. I hope my results can make someone out there feel better! Good luck to everyone!!!
