They only take around 10% of OOS students interviewed, so the way I see it I'm playing with house money.
If you're referring to the stats on the ADEA guide, I think those are wrong. It says they interview X applicants from OOS and accept Y. Then, when you look at how many enroll, the number of OOS students is also exactly equal to Y. I guarantee UNLV doesn't have 100% attrition rates. I don't think any school does, *maybe* Harvard. I just think when ADEA asked for the data they didnt provide the number they accepted from OOS and just gave the number of OOS who enrolled for both sections, which makes a big difference

Congrats! Super excited for you! What is your other interview?

Funny enough, I got an interview at Nova FIRST, but the interview isn't until NEXT year (2016). I'm hoping by then I would know whether or not I was accepted by the one(s) I get this year!

Congrats! Just wondering if they assigned you an interview date yet after you submitted your availability?
Thank you! And yes, I emailed them two dates I preferred, and I got my first choice (middle of October).

I'm so relieved. I was starting to worry... but I got my interview invite #3 today. Fingers crossed that they like me.

Congrats! But this just makes me more confused about how the schools decide what apps to review first lol. My mail out was 8/13, app was confirmed late august and 2 days later I was invited to interview. I haven't heard from other schools, but the fact it took them an extra month to look at your app when it was mailed a week earlier is confusing

Ok that makes sense, there's no way that all of the OOS students that are accepted actually enroll there. Especially with UNLV's ridiculous OOS tuition costs

My theory: there's a big wheel with AADSAS numbers like on Wheel of Fortune. Whomever the wheel lands on, that's whose app they look at. Then they replace that space with someone else's number and repeat.

I am confused too. UNLV actually received my app before the mail out day. When I saw peeple here getting interview from UNLV with mail out day after me I was sure I should wait for a rejection letter.
I am not understanding the concept of rolling basis here! 😉

congrats!! I interviewed last year with them as well in February and got waitlisted. Just curious as to what you did this past year to strengthen your app? I am still hoping to interview again with them but still no word.

Not a whole lot...I took another post bac course and another year of dental assisting...but I think the biggest thing was that I applied earlier

Thank you very much @virtualmaster999 I really appreciate it...i have wanted to be a dentist for a long time and I had a rough undergrad with some family issues...that's why my gpa is low...anyways I am making up for it with my post-bac and I have been a certified dental assistant for over 6 years!

Interview #5

Temple
Mailed out first batch
Application complete mid August
GPA (o,s) 4.00, 4.06
DAT (AA/TS/PAT/RC/any section under 17)
22/21/23/26/no

In the email, it said that the format would be MMI...was this the case for you? or is this a new thing they are implementing...

Im having a hard time finding information on MMI interviews for dental school... :scared:

Last year I had three back to back 30 minute interviews. It was exactly how it sounds. No surprises. Just three faculty members on the admissions committee that you meet with separately.
