First rejection, from UCSF... 🙁 on my birthday. I thought I had a decent shot, but didn't think I would get rejected so soon in the cycle!

My stats are o3.48, s3.48, DAT AA23 (all above 20), one publication in Psychobiology, 300 volunteer hours, 80 hours shadowing... starting to get worried.
Cheer up! It's their loss and there's a reason behind it that you will soon discover... Happy birthday!!!!

Going to defer my interview at Roseman =.= I'm not sure why but I have a feeling for not going there after all.

Interview #9!

School: University of New England
Notification date: 9/24/15
Method of notification: E-mail
Residency: AR
AADSAS mail-out date: 7/2/15
GPA (science, overall): 3.88, 3.84
DAT (AA/TS/PAT/Reading/any section below a 17): 21/19/16/24/Just the 16 on the PAT 🙁

Last year I had three back to back 30 minute interviews. It was exactly how it sounds. No surprises. Just three faculty members on the admissions committee that you meet with separately.
Im so glad to hear that. For my friends MMI pharmacy interview last year, he had an actor at one of the stations. The actor had to pretend to be a homeless man who did not speak english and the interviewer at that station told him to go deal with the "homeless" man as he would in real life. Thats it. And the interviewer just observed him. My friend said it was the awkwardest 10 mins of his life. hahaha

So when I saw "MMI" in the UW interview invite...I was petrified. haha I imagined 8-10 different stations/interviewers and the students rotating about each one like speed dating. haha What you did last year is much more manageable! thank the lawed. Although a combined interview time of 1.5 hours does seem a bit long.

How was the vibe of the interview? Conversational or more direct just Questions and answers back and forth?

Definitely no actors. That sounds impossible. You definitely want it to be more conversational, but they have questions prepped they want to ask you based on your application and your experience. As with any interview I try to make sure that I have at least one or two questions at the end to ask. It's a little like speed dating. Hopefully you get someone you can develop good rapport with and that makes you more relaxed and it goes a bit smoother.

seems like they are trying to boost their GPA avg up this year
It could be. I don't have a low GPA though, and on the phone admissions told me that it was because they are trying to boost their DAT average up this year. It could be both... I'm not sure.

They lied to you, my roommate has a 19AA and he got an interview....I also have a 19AA and was rejected. ADCOMS, man.
It could be that they lied... But i don't know why they couldn't just be honest with me. This girl I know also got rejected. She called and they told her the same thing. They said they aren't considering anyone with a score that is lower than a 21.

Maybe they mean lower than 21 in the TS?

To end the whole NOVA dilemna, im pretty sure they're looking for high GPAs. 22AA 24TS 3.38 ogpa got denied a few days ago.

I have 3.5. Not sure if that is the threshold or if I'm selling myself short, but I particularly didn't think mine was high.

I don't know why everyone is so hung up on Nova. If it makes any of you who got rejected feel any better, I have not heard very good things about Novas clinic situation.
