Wow. Congrats! You should defer a couple of those that are lowest on your list to post December. I'm saying that as someone who didn't even apply to most of those on your list, so you know you can trust me haha 🙂

They interview about ~280, based on previous years they've extended 150 offers. But as Pierpont will tell you at your interview day, they'll only accept about 50-60 on December 1. That's not to say that pre-December interviewees are rejected, they'll still be in the pool. They just want to give their post Dec interviewees a fair chance.

Hi all.
I posted this on a different forum but had no reply. I'm wondering what the decision date means for each school listed when you go to the designations link on the portal. I never saw it there before. Each one is different for each designation. The dates are passed also. Slight panic.

Also, where do I find my mail out date. I saw it previously but can't seem to see it now.

Through February 1st 2015 of last year's cycle, the Texas dental schools had interviewed 413 unique applicants. In 2014 they had interviewed 355 unique applicants. (IS)

(Houston - 259, Baylor - 263, San A -275) interviews out of 901 unique applications.

So yes, there is a lot of crossover, but not quite that good.

Can you please give me your ideas about my situation? When do you think I have to retake my DAT? My AA and TS are 19, PAT 20, RC20, and I have a GPA of 3.84. But I haven't taken all of my prerequisites yet. I started getting disappointed for getting any interviews. My application was mailed out on 8/27.

Your application is so much more than those numbers you listed. If you haven't received any interviews yet, keep in mind that several dental schools are yet to send any out. All hope is not lost. If it doesn't work out this cycle the best advice I can give you is to just be honest with yourself. Lying to yourself and making excuses for why dental schools aren't paying you any attention will only be to your detriment. Take an honest look at your application, find what can be improved, and do what it takes to make the needed changes. Good luck!
