Lol he didn't apply too late. I was 7th batch and have similar stats and received 6 offers thankfully.

I guess it all depends on the schools that you apply to... Always heard to apply in June... What month is 7-8? Sounds like late lol 😛 Don't know... Trying to stay positive for him... 😱

Sooo im new here and its because the worse day of my life!! Finished 3 years of dental school overseas and came here because of the war! took the dat and end up with AA:21 TS:22 PAT:19 : reading 17 GPA: 3.61. applied to 18 schools. Interviewed at NOVA, UDM, UNE, MWA and Minnesota. All my interviews went well and the main topic at each interview was my 3 years dental school I did. some schools like NOVA asked me a lot of questions at the interview about me and end up with wait listed because they want me to take courses I transferred from overseas I THINK. UDM said nothing about the courses and felt like im in! apparently not since i got nothing today. Hopefully tomorrow.
Anyways UNE literally some of their professors called me a dentist during the interview and were very friendly. I answered every questions but again nothing today!! MW Arizona! loved the school i think its above any school in technology and experience. I sent a thank u email after and said its my first choice and how impressed by the school i was. again!! nothing today. Minnesota!! interview went very well. set with the app lady after and she told me" this is a very strong app cause no one came here with 3 years dental school before" plus they accepted all my overseas courses basically everything was perfect. sooo since i got **** nothing today and trying to be patient for tomorrow what do you guys think ? cause im about to explode

First, Congrats! if you need experience i would go NYU if your following name for sure Columbia! don't forget both are in NYC which is the best name in the world!!

well, i understand that and trust me i gave everything in my life to my dream even my parents!! last time i saw them was 4 years ago, and what i went through is harder than 4 dental degrees combined and what i don't understand is those people who interviewed me and they got everything about my weird story and felt for me and hared nothing back from them. I really dont get what do they need more than a guy having his goal set up the sky and finished 3 years dental schools before!! like who did that before?

Two interviews left. Lecom and tufts. So far I'm 0/9 in acceptances this year and last. 3 interviews last year and 6 this year. Let's hope these last two can bring me some justice. Don't listen when someone says 5 interviews = an acceptance. Idk what it is but 9 interviews for me did not give a single acceptance. Of course it's not over for this year yet, I've been wait listed for sure by two schools and no response from four but we'll see. Got two more interviews coming up that id really like some information on. Clearly I'm doing something wrong in the interviews. Does anyone have any knowledge on lecom and tufts interviews? Anyone that got accepted preferably? I seriously don't know what it is I do wrong, but every interview I've had this year with the exception of one I felt very confident and received quite the praise and nice comments from the interviewers. I'd really appreciate any info/advice. Thanks guys, congrats all that are accepted and for the rest, just wait patiently, I know it's tough. This day this year and last year have been the worst. I never would have anticipated all my hard work going down the drain these past two years. If I miss this year again, I can't imagine having to go through another hell cycle. This admissions process really is draining. Again, congrats to all. And good luck to the remaining. Just remember, some people can't attend all 12 schools they were accepted at, so having to settle for a wait list spot will have to suffice for us, which is probably better if you've originally had no acceptances. Have you called any of the schools that rejected you to ask how to improve/why you were rejected? There's just too many variables in each application, without a definitive red flag it's just hard to find what the issue is, so it may be best to ask admissions themselves.

I was given the same old "we had a tough application pool and you didn't make the cut" speech last year, haven't been rejected yet this year. Thanks for the good vibes guys dentistry needs people like you. I'll call schools tomorrow to figure out whether I'm wait listed or rejected and ask why I wasn't accepted.
 
Anyone got rejection from Buffalo with interview?? I haven't heard from them yet and there's no status change updated (still saying invited for interview). I don't want to think that means rejection.. but I see that most acceptance from pre December interview were already sent out yesterday....

Hey buddy you're not alone. This is my 5th cycle and 4th dat attempt and waiting for an acceptance for my only pre dec interview is def stressful. Keep your head up and if you really want to become a dentist (which it seems like you definitely do) you will get there...just a matter of time. Trust me I've been through highs and lows, mostly lows but I'm still here stalking the sdn forums waiting for that one acceptance to get me in. Hang in there, bc it ain't over yet.

Scholarships are given at the time of acceptance, you can certainly ask for one, but they have already decided who will get them when they start notifying people.

I've seen anywhere between 10K-year and 35K/year so far. Some schools give a scholarship to bring OOS costs down to or close to in-state costs but that is with your "financial aid" package from what I've been told and not really a "merit" scholarship like people are getting with their offers.

Yes! I would love to stay in the city tbh but financially rutgers may be the cheapest option right now. Columbia is my dream school so I'm hoping it will work out there! Thanks for your input. Good luck!
 
Congratulations to the newly accepted students! For you and anyone who has already interviewed: what would you recommend a male applicant wear to an interview? A suit & tie or a sportcoat & khakis/slacks, etc? Thanks!

So if i didn't hear anything so far, I'm assuming I missed the first round of acceptances. I'm waiting for Pitt and Maryland...does anyone know when they start sending their second batch?
I have till Jan 4 to send my deposit in and don't want to waste $1000 if I end up getting in elsewhere and want to go there

Me same with NYU... Just interviewed on Nov 30th and got the acceptance the next day!!! Keep grinning stupidly at strangers for the whole day yesterday...

Advice for your Lecom interview, really talk up your community service and volunteering efforts and expand on that in your group interview. They really look highly on that. Be sure you are prepared for the group interview setting! Good luck!!!!

I think everyone here is like me and can't stress this enough to future applicants.
Best thing to do is ---Apply early as possible!!!
I was sixth batch and I already felt like that was too late given the number of applicants nowadays. What held be back was my professor being a bit lazy in uploading a letter of rec! So get that all done and early and give yourself the absolute best shot. Good luck to all. If anyone needs advice on anything I'm open to talk via messages.
