For people in the future who may happen to see this and want to decide if they should spend a few hundred dollars applying OOS to certain schools based on stats...don't
Rejections #1 and #2 (I love counting rejections. who doesn't?)
UNC, Rutgers
OOS both
no interviews
3.8 GPA, 23 DAT
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have to play devils advocate here... Although it's probably just my optimistic personality coming out.

For those who are wondering if it's worth it to pay a few hundred dollars to apply OOS and DO get in, it is TOTALLY worth it. And I guess that's the risk you take!

Interviews 1-6
VCU, UNC, Iowa, Buffalo, San Antonio, Baylor
All OOS
Acceptance 1,2,3
Buffalo, Baylor, UNC
3.5GPA 21 DAT

Keep your heads up! Work as hard as you can and it'll work out how it's supposed to in the end! Ok rant over 🙂

Oh gosh I'm not saying don't apply OOS! I got 5 OOS interviews and 4 OOS acceptances. I think I just applied to too many places. I definitely should've saved my money at Rutgers though. I wouldn't have gone lol. Certain places like Texas and UNC have a verrrry low OOS rate. You must have had something super cool in your app. I said applying based on stats. Congrats to you!

My stats...
Residency: CA
AADSAS mail-out date: 10/30/15
App. completion date: 11/06/15 (second mail-out)
GPA: 3.42 science, 3.50 total
DAT: 22/22/20/24/none

Just curious, but what's the difference between AADSAS mail-out date and second mail-out?

Will you be attending Buffalo?

Hard to say at this moment since I'm still waiting to hear back from other schools. It's my most economical option thus far, so I'm strongly considering it. Decision will have to be made soon though considering first deposits deadlines are coming up, and I'm not planning on putting down $ in more than one place..

I may be wrong (anyone please correct me or add onto this); but from what I understand, AADSAS mails out your application again once something has been added to your primary application (DAT scores, LoR, etc.).

Rejection #3 RUTGERS

Lol that's my bad! I know exactly what you mean, I shouldn't have applied to so many OOS either because there are some I wouldn't have gone to now that I think back. It's so hard to know where you are as an applicant! So I just applied to a ton of schools and hoped for the best. Best of luck to you!

I'm really torn between University of Louisville and University of Maryland. Any advice? ?

Maryland gives in-state after a year if I remember correctly.

Yeah, financially speaking it seems like UMD would be the smarter choice. We shall see what I decide though. I guess I'll make a separate topic though, I don't want to get off topic on this thread
