Then the real question comes, what can you do to improve your chances? At least for me I know it's my gpa (<3.5) so I enrolled in a few classes this semester hoping to at least show that I am working on my weaknessOops I meant 72 (math is hard). And they have volunteering (clinical and non clinical), tons of research (multiple REUs), and school list was low-mid with few reach schools. My LizzyM 67 with more volunteering had 1 allopathic and a few osteopathic. Just goes to show this process is random, there's a lot of qualified applicants, so not getting IIs may not be a reflection of your application.
Ah, that's a whole different ballgame. Something that I did not know when I sent in my application is that you have to consider how many applications the schools are getting, even if their numbers are in line with yours. For example, everyone and their cousin applies to George Washington because it has reasonable stats, but it's insanely competitive because of the sheer volume of applicants. That might have something to do with it, it's a pitfall I will avoid next time.Oops I meant 72 (math is hard). you can re-use your academic recs - that's no issue. But make sure to get new ones as well, which you are so you're all set.0 interviews so im starting to prepare for a reapplication. does anyone know the policy on reusing LOR? i have 2 science, 1 non-science, 1 from PI for this current cycle and could potentially get 2 new letters for next cycle (science and PI from new research lab) but trying to reuse one sci and non-sci

Rejected from Irvine 🙁 my state hates me
You've heard nothing?!? Where did you apply?!?!Dead silence and many rejections. 3.9/508, I thought I had a chance at least one interview. There's always next year I suppose 🙁

UIC, Rush, Loyola, Rosalind, MCW, Penn State, Georgetown, U Minnesota, Northwestern, USC Keck, Miami Miller, Indiana, Case Western, and 2 DO schools. I got waitlisted at a DO school but nothing from the MD's. I realize I have too many reach schools and will definitely come up with a better list for reapplying. I am working on improving my EC's.
Case Western is def a reach but I am so surprised you haven't been offered at interview at Rush, Loyola, Rosalind, MCW, Penn State, or even Georgetown(this school looks at the whole applicant more than numbers). I mean honestly silence is better than a rejection - it may just turn into an II!
I called MCW last week and they said they were still extending interview invites to applicants. As far as I know Georgetown is as well (although I've already been rejected from here).Do you know if any of those schools are still offering II's? My hopes aren't very high anymore.

your best bet is to check each school's thread on here because some applicants write that they received an II or you can call the school and ask. I am not sure about any of those schools to be honest.Do you know if any of those schools are still offering II's? My hopes aren't very high anymore.

It's really weird that you've only heard from one school so far. I bolded the schools where I could definitely see you hearing something from soon. I think the fundamental problem is that you applied to schools that:UIC, Rush, Loyola, Rosalind, MCW, Penn State, Georgetown, U Minnesota, Northwestern, USC Keck, Miami Miller, Indiana, Case Western, and 2 DO schools. It's really weird that you've only heard from one school so far. I bolded the schools where I could definitely see you hearing something from soon. I think the fundamental problem is that you applied to schools that:
A) have really high MCAT requirements like Northwestern, USC, and Case Western, and
B) get tons and tons of applications like Rush, Rosalind Franklin, and Georgetown.
C) are public schools outside of your state (I'm assuming you're an Illinois resident).
I really hope that you don't have to reapply next year because it sounds like you have a solid application, but if you do I think the problem could easily be fixed by adding a few more DO schools and applying more broadly. Good luck!
UIC is still offering invites.... if you're still unreviewed (check your portal) you've got a chance through April still. Same with MCW. Rosalind gets a boatload of apps, but if you're not rejected, you still have a shot. Are you on the interview waitlist?
Northwestern is done. Are you still open at Rush?
I mean, if you haven't been rejected you're still in the running anywhere. The ones where I think you have a legitimate chance at an interview are Loyola and MCW, as I know they interview late into the spring. I interviewed in January at Rush and they told us they would only have 6 more interview dates, so I'm not optimistic for them, unfortunately. I think there's a fair chance you could get off the waitlist at the DO school and get an interview at the other DO school. Good luck! Thanks for the feedback. I was rejected from UIC and Rosalind and am an Illinois resident. If I have to reapply, I will certainly add more DO schools. Do you think there are any other MD schools I might have a chance at?

I'm glad this thread has been bumped up again, I had forgotten about it.
From my end, still 0 interviews, pure dead silence. I think this is the only thread where people actually have 0 interviews....the other "no interviews" thread has turned into people complaining about having only 4 interviews...

We have similar stats (not sure what your ECs look like). Feel free to check out my MDapps for schools I applied to/had luck at
Wish I had something to remind schools I exist. Since my update in January I've just been trucking along.
Or I wish tufts/quinnipiac/Jeff/temple/wake/Drexel would send me an II or rejection...

this was my year, 1 II + 1 acceptance; 3rd cycle
Come back stronger next year, apply broadly to low tier programs, try to network. Remember you can't do an SMP in your 3rd cycle w/o retaking the MCAT. Most importantly apply to DO your 3rd cycle no matter what...
I randomly received 4 IIs in Feb/March but haven't gotten any acceptances, so that's that.
that's fantastic! hopefully one of those becomes an acceptance!I randomly received 4 IIs in Feb/March but haven't gotten any acceptances, so that's that.
