M2 here. Starting today, I am just going to be reviewing for Step 1 which I am taking next May, and nothing else. Here is my plan:

Oct 23-Dec 31: Memorize FA2014, Watch all of Pathoma
Jan 1-Jan 31: FA2015, Pathoma (pass 2), Kaplan QBank
Feb 1-Feb 28: FA2015 (pass 2), Pathoma (pass 3), USMLERX
March 1- March 31: FA2015 (pass 3), Pathoma (pass 4): UWorld
April 1- Mid May: FA2015 (pass 4), Pathoma (selective topics), UWorld (pass 2), all practice tests

Goal: High number

from 3 days the exam is hard i hope for a 250 only but i have many mistakes many many i think i wil fail or pass with bad score

can anyone help me with prediction score.
i am a colombian IMG.
this is my scores ( i took the exam on 11 june, still waiting for results, maybe on 8 july )

Uworld cumulative, 1st time, ramdom timed 72%
Kaplan qbank after uworld, 1st time ramdom, timed only "high yield" questions (did arround 1200) : 82% cumulative
UWSA 1 / 2 = 248 on both
NBME 15 = 224 (BASELINE, before uworld / kaplan qbank)
NBME 16= 241 (after completion of 50% of uworld)
NBME 17 (THIS IS MY RED FLAG)= 232 (I freaked out, during this , many pauses, many distraction, i made few silly mistake.)
NBME 13 (took as same day as 17 form)= 247 (i keep calm during this one, and just keep focused)
Fred software (2015) only took 1 block 86% or so.
all nbme were online and timed.

Exam day: i made sure i was in optimal conditions, i had good rest, i didnt freak out as in NBME 17, i DIDNT FEEL LIKE I SCREWED, i feel like is finally over, i dont remenber to much questions, i feel i am somewhere between 220-249. there is some exams (high school, university or whatever) than you know you may nailed it or you totally screwed it, i am feeling like that.
anyway any predictions ?

This next Wednesday can't come fast enough. Definitely ready to be done with the waiting. It's got to be much worse for those who took it in early May and are still waiting. Good luck to everyone getting their scores next week. Hope everyone performs well and gets what they were hoping for!

Just took NBME 16 , ended up with 262 (660) . Felt good after seeing the score report , however it dint feel good while taking it though ! Just stuck with making educated guesses , but to be honest it seemed very unlikely that it would show something past 260. This happen to anyone else? or was it just plain luck? Importantly is this how the real test feels like , just making educated guesses , never really sure of a considerable amount of questions?

When did you give your exam ?
It may be helpful to answer your question if you let us know when u sat for the exam..
Many people feel that way... dont worry you should probably do well.. most people usually get scores in the range of their recent nbmes.. there r exceptions..but most people get in that range. When did you give your exam ?

why does it matter when you gave the exam? I think what matters more importantly is if more average students give the exam and if u do better than average your score will be above average right? Such as the case from May- to June when most AMG's have to give the exam regardless of if they are average or above average.... where as people in November- December only give it bec they are confident they will score above average......

Also does anyone know will the curve be tougher now that there are 44 questions and not 46 questions?

Took my test in late May (44q) and now the Print Permit link is gone. Wonder if the score will be out today, or does that mean next week? Unsure when it disappeared, pretty sure it was there this weekend though.

Just to clarify, the highlighted red box above is what people are referring to when they say their "scheduling permit disappears" right? That entire box goes away? If so, mine has yet to go away lol

Is it past your eligibility period?

I took the exam June 22. Should I expect the results on July 8 also or is it gonna be July 15? Not sure what the cut off was for "late june"

How would anyone know?

My n=1 test had about 50% of this & the other 50% were no-brainers.

Make a chart. Copy it 3 or so times and you will remember enough for the test. Its not as painful you would think

Definitely worth doing if there is any question on your memory/understanding of this! I can't reveal anything specific but I had a question with quite a few answer choices (lol)...not just 5! and let's just say you needed to not only know the level (3rd vs 4th arch)..but the difference between pouch, groove, and arch is imperative! haha.. a chart would fix this! stick to FA..no need to do the pretramatic stuff really.

I get the feeling i am not gonna walk out of the exam feeling good , regardless of the score that iend up with !

from my experience you walk out thinking ' that wasn't too bad!!'...then as you start looking up things you think you educated guessed correctly..and discover you didn't....as time goes on you start to worry a bit more haha!! the waiting time is the worse for seeing your scores 🙂) I walked out "probably 240...at worse 235"... now a few weeks later and randomly looking things up "gosh...i hope for 230..what if i got a 215!!!" haha the wait sucks!! 🙂

Yeah, you most likely won't. As my experience posts said, my test seemed really straightforward, but I still left (& still do) feeling like I could've scored anywhere in a 50-60 point range.

So has anyone else who took the exam in June seen the permit disappear? I took mine June 15 and I can still see my permit.

Try to click on the link and see if it works. I have the link, but when you click, it says: "Permit is not available. The candidate may have sat for the exam or the registration is no longer active."

I opened the link the day after I took the exam and it said that.

Loong time lurker... and now freaking out a bit, so please be patient and help me out.

I wrote my STEP 2 days ago and def. didnt feel good coming out of it. My stats are this: NBME 15 - 205; NBME 17 - 210; NBME 13 - 225
I was no way near my optimal conditions - exam anxiety the day before ( slept 4 hours) and on the day of. I counted about 80 questions that I for sure got wrong and felt like I knew only 55% of the test. Cant figure out if the rest of the questions were right or wrong. Am I doomed?

i am sure you will pass since you were already getting a 216 and studied 5 more weeks after that. my friend got a 194 on step 1 and a 203 on step 2 ck right before they moved the passing score to a 209 and she matched for IM residency. so anything is possible but i know its hard not to worry about this exam sometimes i wish the score comes out the same day so at least you know your fate.

Thanks super_mom for the ray of hope.
Have you taken any exams?

When I saw your blog name, I immediately identified with you. I have a 4 yo boy soon to be 5yrs and I had to hold off my studies last year because I gave birth to identical twin girls. They are almost 10 months now. I understand you. I am also an old IMG. What I can say about the exam is apart from acquiring knowledge, it's all about exam strategy. I believe that is what you should work on from here onward. I did not use the NBMEs to develop that strategy, but I regret that now. So do the NBME online, then if you have to put it off based on your goal, do it, but continue to do a NBME weekly to identify your weak areas. In doing so you will refine your strategy. Good Luck to you! Feel free to ask me anything.

Hi all! Did anyone else take the June 27th exam? I don't know if all forms each day are the same, but I honestly have not a clue on how I feel about it... also, when approximately do you think scores will come out for the 06/27 date?

No forms are the same

The "print permit" link just disappeared for me. Took the USMLE on June 3, and my eligibility extends to July 31, so score is DEFINITELY coming next Wednesday.
Yep, and for me, too... Scary... And, if we talk Wednesday, is there any data what time? Early morning, late morning, afternoon etc ????

Pretty sure most have said 11a-11:30a ballpark, not sure if that's Eastern & the same everywhere or if each time zone gets it at 11 their time.

Me TOOOO! June 11 test here. I just checked yesterday and the link was still there. Now it's gone baby. Almost done with this wait.

Luckily I start rotations Monday so I'll have some nice distraction for those couple days.
