WHAT. I thougt tvelocity was one of those 270 superstars that already took step.

Anyways mine were the same for the first 25 blocks or so, then something clicked and they steadily continued to rise. Good Luck!

Mate you'll need a lot more than a good uw % to get 270s 😀

Lol nah , this is the first time I've started uworld so I think I just need to get use to the questions. Because I know the information for the stuff I miss for most of it. Thanks though!

For those that have already done UWORLD, did you notice your percentage increase the longer you did it? I saved UWORLD till now, and am doing 2 blocks a day during my 5 wk dedicated time. I've only done 3 days so far, and I get around 55-61% each time. Thanks

I definitely increased from when I started... I started with getting ~ 60% and when I was finishing it up maybe halfway through I was getting ~ 80%+. I think I started figuring out the method to their madness. I ended my first and only pass of it at 80%. Sat for the exam last week so... we will see (I felt terrible afterwards lol)

Just took NBME 12, managed to score a 247.
My minimum goal is a 250, test is most likely mid July.

Physiology almost accounted for half the questions I got wrong on the NBME, I feel like me conrad fischer and kaplan LN have a date together in the coming weeks. Does anyone have any experience with the newest Kaplan videos for physio?

Congrats on being finished! Just curious, did you do all of uworld during dedicated? Glad to see the 60--> 80 jump haha. Hopefully the same will happen for me. I'm only on wk 1 out of 5 of dedicated so we will see!

I did. I started with pathoma + vids (I owe Dr Sattar a big thanks cause he was pretty clutch for a lot on the real deal for me) then did a full review of FA and started doing blocks of UWorld in the evenings. Then I just strictly did UWorld daily (as much as I could do in a day) + UWSAs + NBMEs up until a few days before the exam.

And thank you! Happy to be done.

My plan is to do Rx and pathoma first, then attack UWorld... Is there anyone here that has done that? I will have 8 wks dedicated study time. Not sure if 8 wks will be enough to do all that.

I will have done pathoma x2 and all of Rx prior to dedicated, I feel like I would need 8 weeks to review uWorld the way it needs to be reviewed

I went through and spent the time memorizing the crazy details in UW nearly verbatim. In retrospect, it was a bad idea that netted me zero points on the real deal. Big picture UW > nitty gritty UW details. Attributes associated with Turner's >>>>>>>>>>> gene involvement. It gets so low yield, it's actually negative yield.

I will finish pathoma x1 and 40-50% of Rx by the time I am done with my last block (early May)... I will to do pathoma again x2 and finish with Rx in my 1st 3 wks of dedicated study time... I will leave UWorld, BRS physio and other subjects that I am a weak on for that last 5 weeks...

3 weeks for Uworld should be enough if one does 3 blocks/day IMO...

I think 3 blocks of UW per day for a first pass may not be a reasonable goal. Doing the qs and thoroughly reviewing them takes 4-5hrs per block. I'm not sure if you can spend 12-15 hours daily on Qbank alone.

I will be doing 3 blocks/day (2 UW and 1 Rx) during my dedicated time too. However, this will be my second pass, so I shouldn't be spending more than 2-3 hours/block total.

I see... I guess I'll do 2 blocks/day.

Are the answers and explanations provided for the questions on the UWSA's or are they like NBME, where you only get to see the questions you missed?

Hello @breadlover72 ! Congratulations on finally getting done. I am writing mine in a week too. How did you find the real deal in comparison to the nbmes? Any repeated questions? I can't decdide whether to do oldest nbmes offline (1,2,3,4) or just revise FA in the final days. Any input will be appreciated.

I might have hypothetically had a handful of some of the same stems 😉 but the questions and answers choices were different. I would just hit FA over the last few days prior. But that's just me. I'll message you.

I just want to ask a question about the free 150. where do you get it? I went on the site and I could only find a pdf for 138 questions,

That's the free "150". It hasn't been 150 for a while, but it's kept its old name. I don't know where you found the 138, but there are two PDFs on this site, one with 132 and one with 117 questions.

I was just curious. For any June/July test takers (or really anyone), where are you guys in school right now? Are you still covering material or are you in your dedicated?

Anyone else think that the wait for your score is the worst? I remembered a question today, looked it up and am pretty sure I got it wrong. It's been a week and it still haunts me!

I'm with you on that one. Going on 1 week and 2 days for me since I took it and I keep remembering random stuff (but luckily I've gotten them right...or at least I think I did, haha.) This is torture. Although some days I think Id rather not know how I did.

So um, should I figure out how to read ECG leads when localizing a STEMI or should I just memorize the damn chart in first aid? I really don't feel like figuring out this ECG witchcraft again. :vomit:

You take it 3/21 too???

Holy crap yes I've been looking up things for questions I was 50/50 on and got a bunch wrong so I'm so sad right now

Ya I had that happen to me today and I just had to ignore it - tell myself it was a beta question and suppress the feelings! Good luck I'm sure you did great

I had a similar experience. The first half of that QBank is a struggle. After that, things start to come together and your score should go up. I started out around 60 and ended in the mid to upper 70s. It's probably reasonable to expect your percentage to increase by at least 10 points by the end of it. Just keep plugging away and you'll be fine.

I felt unsure of my test performance while walking out of the real deal - It wasn't a new feeling at all, as I felt the same with each practice test and they all turned out fine. I told myself I wouldn't look up any questions after the test and I'm glad that I didn't. I just received my score a couple days ago, so I thought I'd contribute.

NBME 15: 247 - 6 weeks out
USMLE Free 150: 90% overall 2 weeks out
NBME 16: 258 - 1 week out

Actual Step 1 Score: 263

I was super relieved that I was able to improve on my practice test scores, I felt like the actual test wasn't as bad as I was expecting, but it was difficult. I had a lot more flagged questions as usual, but I wanted to make sure to revisit any question I was unsure of. In the end, I think I only ended up changing 3 answers.

During my dedicated study time, I made 3 passes through FA, 2 passes through Pathoma video lectures, 2 passes through Sketchy, and about 5 passes through Lange Pharm cards.

I used Uworld throughout 2nd year, so I was able to finish it before I started my dedicated study (ended with 71%). Got through over 1000 Kaplan questions (78%) before I started Uworld for the 2nd time during dedicated study (finished at 89%).

Hey guys I'm a month away from dedicated and I was wondering how people get through FA 3-4 times in 6 weeks? I've been using it alongside second year to study and it take me ~2 hours just to get through 5 pages (that have been annotated)?

How are people getting through it that quickly? Thanks

I did 4 rounds over 16 weeks to be clear. Slowest is the first round, although it gets faster in successive rounds. In the last round, I already kind of knew what was on the pages, so I didn't feel the need to read every word.

I don't think you should do them. You wont be able to keep up with the deck. It gets really tough and you should focus on FA and q banks.
