Awesome- thanks for the help. And if anyone hears anything this year about interviews, please post so we know!

As for me- I am a US citizen IMG. Currently training at a community hospital w/ a rheum fellowship in house. Applied broad to 81 programs. I have 3 publications. 1 in rheum. 10 poster presentation- 6 in rheum (1 at ACR last year) and 4 submissions pending to ACR this year. Step 1 mid 230's step 2/3 high 220's. I'll let you guys know if I hear anything!
 
Hi everyone.

Looking at the interview list from last year, the programs started to send out interviews pretty early.
I hope folks don’t delay applying and submitting their applications.

Im an IMG, step 1/2/3 scores 260s/250s/220s. 2 posters, 1 oral presentation award, 3 articles submitted but no publication yet. Doing masters in clinical and translational sciences along with Hospitalist job since 2 years (year of grad from residency 2017). Residency was from a community program. No need for visa.

Hope my gap from residency graduation, lack of publications and low step 3 score dont hurt my chances.

I am super impressed by how much you digged into each program as just an interviewee. Reading the list my first thought was suspecting it was written by fellows or insiders!

These summaries are interesting, but the rank list is reflective purely of location preference, not strength of program. Not that he/she said it was.

Also in the spirit of helping other people interview well, I strongly recommend making a list of questions that are important to you and making sure you get them answered during your interview day. Take notes during your interview and after each interview day, write up your impressions. I went on 10 interviews and things would have run together way too much if I hadn't had my notes to refer back to.

As a bonus, after I matched, it was easy to check my notes and remind myself of all the little details of what my life would be like as a fellow!

Here are the questions I used:
Curriculum: how many continuity clinics, required rotations, electives, call
Didactic sessions: who runs them, how frequent, how do you like them, cross-disciplinary didactics, MSK ultrasounds, national/regional conferences
Teaching opportunities: how often do you work with residents and students, do you present any didactics/cases
Consult service: how busy, how many hospitals, how frequent call, how many learners do you manage
Continuity clinic: what’s a typical clinic like, support staff, do you have continuity with a faculty advisor, mix of patients, locations, see enough cases of unusual conditions
Specialty clinics: what do you have, who runs them, what’s your level of participation
Faculty relationships: mentors, reviews with pd, feedback, supervision in clinics, help with inbox, accessibility outside of clinic
Fellow relationships: friends? Hang out? Spend time together at work, or mostly work separately?
Previous fellows: what practice environment? Still live close? Help with getting job from faculty?
City: where to live, things to do, traffic/getting around
