I plan on doing my next NBME with a mask.
I didn't do stellar on UWSA 1, but do think should have got at least 10-12 points higher on it with out mask. Exam in less than 10 days. taking NBME 23 tomorrow and UWSA 2 on Sunday. I have taken NBME 19 and 24. I heard curve on 19 is tough. Next week just review and free 120. Do u think i should take 22 and 21? My score is increasing on every test i have taken.

Can you use any mask, eg a cloth one? I'd probably choose the most porous one I can find. A mask for 8 hours is going to give me a bad headache.
I am using regular blue mask. I used those N95 type for UWSA1 ( first time wearing mask and doing questions). Terrible ideas in hindsight. Thats why now doing questions exclusively with a mask on.

If you have the time, it can't hurt to take (assuming you've finished UWorld). I'm not a huge fan of the NBMEs and am conflicted on how many I myself will end up taking. If you have the time and feel like it's helping, I would do it just to increase the amount of questions you're seeing.

anyone ever do a uworld question, get it wrong, then go back and look at all the answer explanations and realize your reasoning was so far off that the people who designed the question didn't even talk about your thought process

And then sometimes you're so wrong that you get the question right and you read the explanation like "umm yeaaa I was totally going for that..!"

There's no fees anymore so does that mean the day before my test, I could reschedule if I wanted to? Does anyone know. I had to snatch a test day that is suboptimal for me.

I don't know about rescheduling, but I've had classmates who had their exams cancelled by Prometric, found another slot for the very next day, booked it, confirmed it was good by calling the center, showed up and took the exam. Might be center specific though...

It’s hard to describe — stuff was either VERY straightforward ( think Uworld questions with > 80% getting them correct ) or else it tested really random stuff. I was a little annoyed walking out about how many big topics weren’t even touched on.

Reddit predictor has me at 260 but I’m very skeptical I scored that high based on the “hard” questions being less about thinking and more about random recall. It’s hard to say though. I definitely flagged / guessed on a lot more than any of the practice tests which doesn’t feel great...

Not sure exactly. I think 3-4 is the general consensus. What was your goal and howd it feel?

Realize a lot of them were experimental too. Being that your score was predicted so high you were probably used to getting almost of the questions you did correctly but remember you need to scale yourself against everyone who took it who undoubtedly got way less correct than you did. Guaranteed you got at least 5 points within 260. that reddit predictor is super accurate. Now go have a beer and chill your ass off lmao

Man i have noticed that those Q's that >80% get right. I usually get wrong, but those Q's r so straight forward that my mind always think this is a trick Q!

NBME 21 of 233 last week. Finally into the 70s at 71% correct on UWorld. Goal is 250 though. I have one month left. Thinking about postponing a couple weeks since I start third year with elective time, but there are no spots currently...thoughts? Do you think they'll add/stagger spots?

If you have a confirmed spot in hand you would be absolutely crazy to give that up. You're in range of 250 if you're a month out with those scores

Yeah my spot is still confirmed, at least for now. Guess I'll keep grinding and reevaluate later.

similar score on form 21 and similar goal! if its any consolation im also taking step mid june.

I liked it for an older form. The curve is a little less brutal than some of the others. There were a lot of straight forward questions but a few thinkers too. If you have the time, I would give it a try while its still free. I don' think I would pay the $60 for it though

Have you taken any of the other free ones? Probably just taking one of the older ones to save myself $60

Literally scored a 246 on NBME16 today. Did a Kaplan block right after and scored barely over 50%... Kaplan is a joke
And here is one of the question that I got wrong-Honestly one of the worst questions Ive ever seen on a bank: It was asking about the pathogenesis of hydrocele and here were the options
A. Complete failure of the processus vaginalis to fuse
B. Incomplete failure of the processus vaginalis to fuse
C. Failure of the processus vaginalis to form

How the hell are any of those different? especially B. and C.....

Lololol I feel like there are so many questions like that! Especially out of the new ones they just developed where they're "still collecting data." What was the answer? I would prob go with A, you know, just because

246 is awesome man! Youre ready

Thanks man! If I had the luxury of choosing when to take the exam, I think I would take it 2-3 weeks from now and have all of June to chill before rotation, but corona haha

Yeah dude youre gonna crush it! The answer was B. lmao such a dumb question. And yeah their new questions are SOOOO bad, like really bad lol

How does one manage new UW questions close to the exam (during the last 2 weeks or so)? Do we still take notes, or just read the answers carefully and then redo them a couple of days before the exam? UW is relentlessly adding questions.

Will be interesting to see how this compares to the Reddit predictor.

Used it and it seems super accurate. my 4th yr friends said it was off by 1 or 2 points for them

This puts me 2 points lower than the reddit predictor.
The margin of error is pretty wide though (plus/minus 8 points).
puts me at 245 rn with p<.0005 95% CI +/- 3 Reddit has me at 248 with 95% CI +/- 10. The P value is nice for the one fldoctorgirl posted

Kinda chuckled at the "share your results on fb" link at the bottom. I'd cringe soo hard if someone did that
