How much should u take? if you trying to simulate exam situation?

see how you feel taking 5 minute breaks. On exam day you get 6 breaks totaling about an hour, but this includes lunch time and checking out and checking back in. If you can take 5 minute breaks and feel fine, you shouldn’t be too pressed for break time on the real deal. I took three 5 min breaks after my first 3 blocks and as I got tired for blocks 6 and 7 I could afford to take longer breaks to recover. See what works for you as long as you have a solid plan going in.

Felt terrible the whole time, I spent my last break practicing explaining to people why I cancelled my step 1 even after finishing Zanki 😆😆😆

Ended up with a 232 at 66% correct, 42 percentile. Considering how I felt I can't complain at all. I know it under predicts but even if it does by 10 points that's still a 10 point increase from my last exam. Have not done a deep dive yet but seeing some very low numbers in my score report but I think that is what my issue is. I am either super strong or super weak in subjects, no in between. I'll probs make a big post later asking for advice but now its time to take the day off.

Block scores were: 72%, 70%, 65%, and 60% I was above average for all but the last one and I think fatigue played a big role. I was so fed up by the end of this lol

It's a good score! Weird how 66% is 42nd percentile considering 65% was the highest average score on those blocks

For reference 245 = 64th percentile

220 🙁 exam in 15 days SOS.. At this point, I just dont wanna fail.
Based on the graphs @fldoctorgirl quoted, it seems that UWSA1 might not underpredict as much as we think...

Find out your weak areas from the score report and work on them the next days. Take UWSA2 next week. It is gonna be more predictive and you can actually do better on that.

Many ppl have scored better on uwsa2 than uwsa1. If I recall correctly @dj-Roomba started with a UWSA1 in the 220s and got a 246 at the real thing.

Yeah just gotta study harder/smarter.

Under or overpredict? I thought UWSA1 overpredicted by at least 10-20 based on how far out you take it

based on my score and dates it appears to be pretty predictive, but there also is not a lot of data points for my score as well, at least when you get down to specific dates. Ill assume it underpredicts by 10 though so I still maintain that terrified state of mind. I refuse to believe 20 lol

I'm confident that you'll get 240+. During the first block, I asked myself lol why did I choose to this today. Don't let that discourage you. I'm just hoping I'm not overpredicted :/
Would be awesome. honestly hoping to get around a 245+ at this point on 18. At 77% correct first pass UW. Only thing that scares me is my 228 I got on NBME 22 AFTER getting a 238 on 24 a week beforehand lmao. Its been messing with my head so much. Regardless 18 tends to underpredict so youre gucci bro

Did you take any of the other newer ones? Like 20? 23/22 are the hardest out of 20-24

I took 21 as a baseline months ago before even starting UW and got a 217. Kind of wish i took 22 as a baseline so it didnt mess with my mental game
Yeah i wish I did 21 and 24 last. If you can squeeze 20 in before 18, might be worth it. Not necessary but would see which direction you lie on the new ones. Unlike them, there's quite a bit straight recall on 18. Would save it till later, but whatever works for you.

Maybe ill do UWSA1 instead on tuesday and save 18. At least i can learn from UWSA1 and if im four weeks out and it overpredicts maybe itll be more accurate

How did you guys spend your last few days? I feel like I'm losing my energy, but I'm not sure if that's a bad thing or not-- I just feel ready to take this thing already. I should be done with UWorld on Tuesday, also taking the free 120 on Tuesday. Wednesday will be for reviewing the Free 120, Pathoma 1-3, last day of Zanki (forever!!!), and I don't know what else lol. May watch BnB cell bio + genetics cause I never got to it. Thursday = 100% off. I kinda feel like I should be doing more, and I feel like I'm forgetting stuff ha but I'm not sure if everyone just feels this way before. Thoughts?

You haven't done UWSA1? I would definitely take it before 18, and like you said if you're a month out it's a good time to take it. I would personally save 18 for like 2 weeks out.

Yeah ill take UWSA1 for sure on tuesday. I put it off because I know it overpredicts and I didnt wanna take it and get a lower score (sounds stupid but these practice tests really mess with my mental game). at this point if i dont get a 250+ on UWSA1 im in trouble since my goal is a 250+ lol

There's no way you don't slay it. I got a 249 after only doing 1 week of UWorld before my real dedicated started. I could totally see you hitting upper 250s or 260. You're gonna kill it.

Welp I have COMLEX tomorrow and my permit just disappeared so it looks Wednesday is Judgment Day. This will be a very draining 3 days lol.
Let's gooooooo! I can't wait to see your score I'm excited lol

Also remember COMLEX is trash so don't feel too bad when you more than likely feel like crap taking it lol

Permit also disappeared! Purposely scheduled our school's clinical orientation sessions on Monday and Tuesday to get my mind off of Wednesday..

Good luck!! As anxious as I am for Wednesday, at least we will finally have closure and can put Step 1 mania behind us for good.

This may be a dumb question, but what does your screen look like when the permit disappears?

So when you log into your NBME account, the first screen has a box to add a new exam and then another box that says USMLE Step 1 with your exam date and (actual) next to it. Now usually there are two buttons underneath that that say "print permit" and "confirm or reschedule exam" and those should both be gone completely if you are getting your score this Wednesday. You should still see "registration complete" and "full details" and when you click for full details, it will list your date and testing location under schedule but it should say "scheduling is not available" where the print permit and rescheduling buttons used to be. Hope that helps!

Soooo I am starting to get a little nervous about COMLEX. I did fine on the two practice assessments I took a month ago and that was with no OMM studying, but now that the exam is 1.5 weeks away the nerves are starting to set in. What is funny is I'm mostly nervous about bathroom breaks. I am able to go pee in the middle of the block if I need to?

Also should I switch do True learn blocks for the next week or so instead of uworld or do like 60% true learn 40% Uworld?

I think it's the same as Step-- you technically can't take breaks during blocks, but if you must they're not going to stop you and will just report it.

I say 100% UWorld. If you did fine on both of the assessments, you shouldn't be too concerned, especially considering 105b is known to majorly underpredict. If you're really that nervous, you can do some OMM questions only, but I wouldn't waste my time doing more than that. My only plan for between Step and COMLEX is to continue TurnUp2OMT and then do OMM specific questions from COMBANK for like 2-3 days. I think you'll be fine.

Here is hoping. I had planned to finish the OMM deck last week but then just had too much burnout. Ill finish it by friday though and my exam is next thursday so it should be fine, especially since everyone says it usually is mostly VS and chapman with a little sacral and cranial thrown in.

Is getting "reported" serious? I'm a nervous bathroom person, especially during exams lol At this point Id rather wear a diaper then do something that makes me have to retake these exams lol 😆 😆

I don't think it's that serious but I'm not sure lol. I think someone on Reddit posted about taking an unauthorized bathroom break and the Prometric people told them not to sweat it, that it just had to be reported so there was record of it. I'm not sure if this depends on the staff or the circumstances, though.

Phew, KCU has me spoiled letting me pee 3 times every exam 😆 😆

IS the zanki metabolism deck worth it? I've finished it but I still get almost every enzyme question wrong when they pop up. Wondering if my time would be better spent just pouring over the first aid pages

Try writing the pathways on a piece of paper, and then review what enzymes/reactions you got wrong.

Okay, so I bumped my step one day to Wednesday and I may be bumping to mid-July, but my rotation site just informed me today that they want us there in three weeks. But my school is now saying it’s impossible for us to be there in three weeks. So if I get to stay here I could take my exam in a few weeks and get through my school exams first, but if I have to move up there I either have to take it this week or push back super late because there are no dates near my rotation site until September-ish.

I might just cancel both exams for now and reschedule for September or something. I can’t handle all of this stress. :bang:

Take it this week, imo. It seems like you're ready-- I'm not sure what your goal score is, but didn't you just get 249 on UWSA2? You're ready, and I think pushing further will only hurt you. I'm sorry that the situation isn't ideal considering how stressful dedicated is without extra BS, but you got this. Only you know your goals so I don't want to 100% tell you what to do, but based on your practice scores I think you're ready.
