Does anyone feel worse after their day off? Like, I just get all depressed as the hours disappear and thinking about how I have to go back to the grind the next day. When I'm going day after day it's almost easier, as soon as I get a little taste of freedom I'm so over the grind.
This is why I dont take days off! Then Im just miserable everyday

Did this happen just now? They can’t even give us the weekend off from worrying about their cancellation happy trigger finger? Glad you were able to find another spot.
Yup. Was in the pool, enjoying my day off. Got out to get a drink, grabbed my phone and saw "PROMETRIC: important message..." on my lock screen. Was like ohhhhh f***. Once I saw it wasn't Step I felt a little better, logged on to see other dates available and it seemed like there was a lot of availability? I am in Florida which said they are going back to full capacity so maybe that's why? Just hoping it's legit because I originally wanted this site and it was full so.

Well at least it wasn't Step! Hopefully they can relax the social distancing more by the end of the month and open up more spots. Was your date in June or July?

Hmm I didn't expect them to start July cancellations so early, especially with a bunch of centers going back to full capacity. But it is Prometric after all.
That's what's weird about it: the site my COMLEX was originally at is full capacity/essential only right now. So is the site I just rescheduled to (same one as my Step), but yet it seemed like they had a ton of availability in July when I looked, even though I originally tried to schedule COMLEX at that site back in like January and they didn't have any spots. So I'm just hoping it's legit and doesn't end up being a situation where they haven't accurately updated the available appointments.

That's really weird. I'm sure your new location will be fine but it's unbelievable that Prometric still hasn't seemed to figure their own system out.

Just checked the NBOME website and it says I have zero exams so at least they're updating things quickly. Although it does say they're doing maintenance on Sunday, June 6th (but today is June 6th...and it's a Saturday....) from 5-11 pm and you won't be able to reschedule/cancel any exams. Checked my new Prometric confirmation email....4:57 pm lol. Crazy times.

Legit made it just in time.....that's insane.

Ok so I just logged in NBOME and it says I have no exams as well. Even though, I didn't cancel or reschedule my exam.

Edit: Ok it's probably the maintenance going on. I just checked with someone else and theirs says they have no exams either.

Is there anything we need to bring for COMLEX? I know we have the permit for Step, but I don't think there's a COMLEX equivalent right?

Last day of zanki tomorrow and it's kinda bittersweet actually. Did zanki in every setting imaginable these past 2 years. At the gym in between sets, bus rides to the city my fiance/now wife lived in, while pooping, holiday parties, walking on campus, a million different coffee shops. If anything it taught me the value of squeezing every minute out of your day. It was like I had 30k friends that I saw over and over whether I wanted to or not lol.

I’ve had nightmares about my exams getting cancelled. I’m sure everyone else has, too.

I have them the week before we go back to school to do all the in-person crap we missed due to COVID. I have an OPP final, a clinical skills exam, and a Spanish exam where I have to do a H&P and physical exam in Spanish on a standardized patient. I don’t yet know any Spanish so that is going to be a really bad week of cramming phrases that I don’t understand, and hoping my pronunciation is close enough to count. 🙄

And then my school is sending me 980 miles away for clinical rotations right after, and my clinical rotation site is about 90 miles away from the nearest Prometric center (and 90 miles away from the nearest major airport), so... I‘m having nightmares.

My school is sending me 2200 miles away. I leave the day after boards.

Thank you for this thread and all the post. Very helpful. I just took nbme 19 after using up 550 uworld questions and got a 186. Test is in 14 weeks (Caribbean MD, had cbse cancellation and we have to take cbse first) . What is a realistic target score? I'll be doing around 120 q per day for the next 14 weeks. Thanks for the input and time. Especially the advice to have anki finished by noon was really helpful.

It sucks that you’re in this boat, too.

I keep low key hoping that my site will decide that I’m an exposure risk (coming from a major metropolitan area to a rural area with low COVID rates) and not want me. Not gonna happen, but I can dream.

Would make rescheduling boards a lot easier if something happens, for one.

@Medical_studies - I’d say it would depend on your knowledge base. I have major content gaps so I’ve had really large jumps in my practice tests scores in a short period of time just from actually learning the content. 14 weeks is a really long dedicated; you might just do awesome with that much time to study.

Woke up to another cancellation email from Prometric, except it still had my other site code. I put the confirmation number into their website and it still says 'confirmed', and now my new test is on NBOME. Hoping it was just a glitch. Why can't they get their sh** together.

Guys I have a dilemma. I am currently doing 4h/day of content review and 160qs [80 UW (second pass) + 80 Kaplan]. I feel like I still have some knowledge gaps, but on the NBMEs I took, half of my wrongs were because of wrong train of though. I still got 6 weeks left but I don't know if I should replace the 1 kaplan block with more content review or leave it as is for the time being. Any thoughts?

@HopeImakeit I think instead of focusing on extra content review, you should try to get a quick 50 random Amboss questions in every day to try to reach 240. Just my guess, I'm not as far along as you though. 50 amboss 50 Kaplan 80 uworld 3 hours content. Every 500 amboss questions gets you through almost every high yield topic on the test

@calivianya thanks so much for the reply!

Out of NBME 15, 16, 17 and 19, which are worth doing?
I've only taken 16 out of those but it has a lot of repeats from 21 so if you've done 21, probably not worth it? I heard the curve on 19 is rough but it is not too old so it might be worth taking. Not sure about the others.

258 on UWSA2! Got a 260-something on UW1 for people who are trying to see the difference in UWSA scores

Let's go!! No confidence killers here.

A friend who took it last week said it was similar to UWSA2, so hopefully that will bode well for us. I'll let you know tomorrow haha

Anyone willing to guess my projected score? Honestly, I am feeling quite deflated after my UWSA2. But here are my practice scores chronologically:

UWSA1 (February) = 213
NBME17 (mid - April) = 205
NBME13 (2 weeks after 17) = 209
NBME15 (2 weeks after 13) = 238
NBME16 (1 week after 15) = 225
UWSA1 (today) = 220
Also my UWorld average = 66% w/ 70% complete on 1rst (and possibly only) pass

My Step 1 is on the 19th, and my goal originally was a 230. I’m starting to think it’s a pipe dream, esp. since my score seems to be dipping at this point. Any advice though, I would gladly take. Just looking for an average USMLE.

I think 230s is definitely realistic. While your USWA score is lower than what you were going for, those last 2 NBME scores are really good actually. I think a 66% first pass is also very respectable. Just review your UWSA that you took and learn from those mistakes, you got it!!

15 and 16 are great scores, so you're definitely trending up! I'd say you're likely around 225-230 right now, you can definitely be over a 230 with a few more weeks imo.

2019 reddit predictor has u on 236 +/- 18. Don't lose hope! You got this

251 on UWSA2 today (83% correct). I got a 243 on UWSA1 at the beginning of dedicated so obviously hoping UWSA2 is more accurate. I thought there was a lot of random cell bio so I was not expecting that score. I was going to do Free 120 today as well but I have to move into my new apartment tomorrow a couple of hours away so I will be doing Free 120 on Tuesday so I can pack today. Game day on Friday.

Every time UWorld tries to disguise a hyperthyroidism case as anxiety/panic attacks I want to throw my laptop out the window. "Anxiety related to an underlying medical condition" ahhhh, must remember to consider hyperthyroidism when I see these questions and not fall into a bias trap
