Official 7/27 Exam Thread!!

That's awesome. UTSA may not be the most highly prestigious school, or crank out medical students like A&M or Rice, but if one works hard and takes care of business, UTSA is a solid school. A new football program led by national championship coach Larry Coker doesnt hurt either 😀

Either way I wish you (and the rest of us) the best on tuesday. I am trying to stay calm but the only section I feel somewhat decent about is PS. I dont know how people are predicting their best score to be in BS with that killer orgo.

Oh yeah, definitely got the goods to go far if you go here. I know a bunch of people who're in med school now.

and yeah, i feel like my whole grade is gonna be tied to if i got through that orgo section or not. Luckily i finished organic 2 in the spring. I didn't touch it all during the summer (oops).

Agreed. I know a decent amount of students who are in med school as well.

and thats funny, I finished Organic Chem II in the spring, too. I got an A, but I struggled. Orgo II hit me way harder than Orgo I. Orgo I was a joke. Was it just me or was the rest of BS pretty straight forward, like everything AFTER the orgo? Besides a few discretes I dont remember struggling in the latter potion of BS.

I'm also worried about VR, I keep thinking, damn, what if I changed some answers from right to wrong or misread the question or something...I specifically remember one question about mid-way through VR that I thought was super easy then re-read it and realized I had totally gone in the wrong direction...sigh, what if there were others like that that I didnt catch...

I actually really liked the orgo on BS, but that may be because I have a strong background in it. I have taken three semesters of it (including a grad class) and I have tutored it for 2 years. That is why I think I did well, especially if there is a decent curve.

But yes, I agree that VR was quite ambiguous. I feel that this will make or break me.

Yeah, and the ACS was no joke either. You take zhao? I was in larionov.

This was by far the most annoying VR I had taken. The questions/answers were awful and vague. I thought the passages themselves were ok though.

I dont know man...I'm worried all around...PS most likely will have a deadly curve, VR was ambiguous and vague which means it can go either way (and I could have easily bombed it), and then the orgo laid me out, I remember saying what the f*ck out loud when I ran into the third orgo passage in a row, some BS discretes were hard, too. I hate to say it, but this test has the potential to be a royal epic disaster all around.

and Dude, (dudette?) that ACS was no joke. I thought I railed it and when I went to go talk to Zhao about it I did horrible, only thing that saved me was the fact that the rest of the class did even worse  The curve saved my ass for sure. I heard Larionov is a Harvard grad and he's pretty tough.

Little over 3 days left guys...Seriously debating gettin wasted before scores come out and that way it'll soften the blow, or in the rare chance I'm happy with my scores, I'll already be in my zone 😎

I'm banking on my verbal score being like my practice scores. I've never felt good after a verbal section I just started getting them right randomly, reaaaaaaaally need that to be true here.

And yeah larionov gave us a nice curve too, but it was built into his grading. I assumed it was to make up for his exams and quizzes ha. And he actually graduated from a Russian school of sciences or something. Then got his phD at the max plank institute in Germany then worked at Harvard. I have a friend who works in his lab who says he's a monster genius at chemistry.

I'm trying to remember our PS section...yesterday's mcat was gen chem heavy, was ours pretty even?

I don't even remember a single gen chem item
Btw, gonna disappear for a while until after the score release. Good luck everyone, and I hope we all get the scores that we hope for. Hell, make them a few points higher. :luck::xf:

There was definitely some gen chem on it. I specifically remember two passages but I think there were others. Of the two I remember one was cake and the other was medium, but the hardest passage in PS was a physics topic if I recall correctly.

As I was typing that, I just remembered another question I guessed on in PS...damn

Hey everyone, on the thx website thingy, under MCAT Scores does it just say "You have no scores yet"?

I was trying to google this with no such luck in getting an answer!

I am currently being filled with paranoia that I accidentally voided my exam. I'm pretty sure I clicked the first option (of the two) that said "Yes I agree that my exam be scored blahblah" or something along the lines of that.

I didn't even think to call the AAMC people up to ask! And they're not open until Monday now so I was hoping you lovely people could put me out of my misery lol.

Thanks!

I was a re-taker, so it has my old scores, but doesn't indicate anything about pending scores. I'm pretty sure I didn't void...:scared:

When you void you get an instant line in your MCAT Thx main menu, and there will be displayed your voided exams by date taken. If your Thx screen is blank, and says only "No Scores", you have never taken and voided an exam, so not to worry!

Thanks everyone 🙂.

My scores will essentially be the determining factor as to if I apply to medical school this year, or do a two year masters program before applying (and of course rewriting my MCAT sometime inbetween then).

There were definitely a couple days in the past few weeks where I felt like I'm going to fail at life because I won't be able to get into medical school because my scores will be terrible blah blah blah etc etc etc but now I'm in this very zen mood about it and whatever hapens, happens and I will continue to live and enjoy life 🙂.

Bumpyy bump bump. Pretty zen as well, I've made peace with the fact that this is out of my control right now. Two days 🙂

From previous SDN threads it seems that scores have historically come out around 3 pm eastern time.

I'm still pretty cool right now...but monday night and tuesday morning...dont even want to think about it...

How does everyone plan on spending tuesday morning until scores come out?

I'll be volunteering at the hospital, so that should keep my mind off of it. And then.. Idk what I'm going to do after scores come out. I guess it depends on what they are.

Luckily, I have class in the morning and work right after that. Not too much time to stress, but I'll have the site open at work and refreshed every 5 minutes or so!

That being said, if I don't see scores by 3:30 or 4, I might go into panic mode.

You either die a pre-med, or live long enough to see yourself become a medical student.

Oh man...:laugh::laugh:

Same here, I think I've out-stressed myself and am now just whatever.

I'm starting at my new job, so hopefully it'll keep my mind off of it until I can get to a computer to check my score. I'll also still be at work when I get my score (if they release at 3), so it'll prevent any major emotional outbreaks :scared:

hopefully celebrating...

+1 I like that response 🙂. If it goes well, will be going out to dinner and drinks with my siblings at a restaurant of my choice. Lucking out in that dept, I'm from around Philly and theres lots of good eats 😉.

Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?

I think its a great idea to stay busy and occupied tuesday morning before scores come out like some of you have said you plan to do. I couldnt imagine being locked up in my room, bottle in hand, just staring at my laptop screen..............waitin for my sentence. 😱

Nah, I got a school event tuesday morning so I'll be there. I'll be checking THx periodically and if my score is sh*tty im gonna be pretty pissed off and in a bad mood so I'll probably do what any self-respecting bro would do.............hit the weights, rage out, and then go home and cry.

I was trying to compare my levels of anxiety prior to taking the test and now. I'm a nervous wreck now compared to before the test. Before the MCAT, I had this cool collected confidence and I felt like I could handle anything the test could throw at me (dafuq was I thinkin?) but now I feel like **** and want to vomit.

so scared for the verbal

so terrified for the verbal. Section I'm most worried about. In my neurotic post-MCAT state I was able to recall a lot of the questions in PS and BS...I only remember ONE VR question...I can't even make an honest prediction in this section. Its a sickening feeling (flashbacks of 7/6)

do the scores always come out on the tentative date scheduled??!! or could they possibly be delayed???!!!! AHHHHHH

I had a dream last night that I made a 16L? Pretty scary!! At least I didn't have this dream the night before I took the test.... I would have been a wreck!

Nah, scores aren't up. They won't be until tomorrow afternoon or so. Feeling surprisingly calm, convincing myself that I hit my target. Hopefully it's not too much wishful thinking, but it's helping keeping me sane 🙂. Good luck everyone! Almost there

I actually just called the MCAT number and the woman told me that scores would be released tomorrow (8/28) at 5pm EST. Hope that helps people be less stressed, there's no need to be checking for scores today.

I had a dream a few weeks ago that this chic in my Kaplan class who took the MCAT the same day we did got her scores back and she got a 38O!!!!!!!!!😱

Then she was like rubbing it in my face and being a total ass. The dream didnt last long enough for me to find out what I got.

I know the AAMC said scores will be released tomorrow, BUT, there is still that small glimmer of hope inside me that thinks they might get released a bit early. The AAMC might be like "oh what the hell, why delay their suffering any longer, release them!" Kinda like how professors say midterm scores will be up in a week but they actually post a few days later. I wonder if anyone knows if in the history of the CBT MCAT have scores been released a day (or more) before they were supposed to be released. That would be a cool thing to look up...hint hint 😀
