I checked my online status. When it said I was accepted, I then called Angie to double check. She said letters went out Friday in the mail. So either check online or a letter will come soon. I am sure you got in!

If you don't know how to check online, go to the schools website. Pick Admissions, and in the drop down menu pick Recruiting and Admissions. Once there, the left side has a toolbar. Choose Resources for Current Applicants. It will ask you for an id and pin; that came in an e-mail from Angie a few weeks back. Hopefully you still have that id and pin. Good luck, and let me know!

In case you're interested, I called WVSOM to ask what the status of my app is, and they informed me that the app can't be reviewed until they have my physician letter, which I am waiting for from a DO. It is so incredibly frustrating to get a letter from a doctor! I am pretty confident about everything otherwise, but who knows? By the time they get this letter, they will not even remember me! Best of luck to you!

I am so glad you wrote; I wondered what happened, but I am not a person to pry into other people's lives. I am sorry that the process is slowed down for you just because of a D.O. letter. I know some schools use your letters of rec as a tie breaker. For instance, with three interviewers, when two say accept, one says reject, and the adcom is nervous about accepting someone who had an interviewer request a rejection, the letters of rec are used as another evaluation from professionals who know the students. Letters of rec are also used to push students out of the waiting list and into the acceptance pile. I am not saying either of these are your situation; I just think schools wait to have a complete file in case something like that does occur. It makes it less likely that they will have to review your file numerous times.
